My thoughts from this weeks events

February 18, 2011 at 5:14am

Scott Walker has again made me wonder what is wrong with politics today. For 200 years this country has sat down and discussed issues that mattered to the American People. They debated the best course of action and compromised when needed. Today members on both sides refuse to talk to the other, the Tea Party likes to say "We want our country back." Me, I want my Government Back. I want the Government that was made for the People by the people. I want the Government where you could debate all day long and then go out and have drinks with the other party at night, I want the Government that protected workers and the middle class and I want the Government the inspired the world

Scott Walker needs to sit down with union, Republican, and Democratic leaders and ignore the Special interests, the billionaires and Fox News and then do what is right for the people of this great state and discuss the issues that matter to the millions of Blue collar Middle class Wisconsinites who have done nothing but try and earn a living and support their families. We are not upset over the loss of benefits, we understand cuts have to be made we've been doing things like this for 50 years. Losing our rights as workers to assemble and negotiate for better wages and benefits is far worse then losing some benefits for a short time. We're protesting Scott Walkers refusal to even talk with leaders to reach a solution instead he shoves his plan down on us and says it's his way or the highway, that isn't how you govern.

The Truth is this, we in Wisconsin do not have a budget crisis. We had a far worse crisis two years ago and made it through just fine with out Cutting anything from the workers. We were on track to have 127 million dollars at the end of the Budget cycle in June until Scottie pushed through 150 million dollars in tax cuts to the rich and business owners coming in from out of state.

10 Years

August 10, 2010 at 7:18am

Well it's been 10 years since I first started on this little journey of mine. I first signed up for a message Board August 9th, 2000 for a little board called UNJOE. It no longer exists anymore in fact ezboard itself no longer exists it has since become Yuku and only 1 board from my early days is still running, that being the NJOE. I keep in touch with a few of the friends I made then, but it's kind of funny in a way. Many were kids in High School and now some are married, about to be married and have kids of there own. What a difference 10 years makes I guess not only personally but globally as well. Never thought I'd be posting 10 years later under the same name.

So Happy Birthday Rogue9a.

The Best and Worst Person of the week

August 3, 2010 at 3:44am

This weeks Best and Worst people is late due to a cold I had over the weekend, that said I wasn't able to do much research for Best and Worst that said here we go

Best People, Congrats go out to Marc Mezvinsky and Chelsea Clinton for not only tying the not but doing it on their terms. It would have been so easy to turn the wedding into some kind of Political event seeing as the Parents involved included a Former President, the Current Sec. of State and a former congresswoman from Pennsylvania. But they made it a private affair and kept prying eyes out by the use of tents, the FAA declaring a no fly zone around the area also helped and was a good idea considering who was there. We've watched Chelsea grow up so for a lot of ways her wedding meant a lot to many people. So Congrats on the wedding and for being named This weeks Best People of the week.

In related news, the Worst People goes to the Media who descended on the small New York Town of Rhinebeck to report on anything and everything that maybe even remotely involved. Now It's understandable that the press would be there to report but reporting that people claimed to have seen Oprah's Dog is a bit much. Then there is the reported Price tag that the media reported as being as little as 2 million to as high as 6 million when there is no info out there to even estimate how much it would cost and when it comes down to it why to we care now I'm sure some far right nuts will claim tax money was used but the whole wedding is coming out of the families pockets it makes no difference how much money was spent. We don't need up to the minute updates from a wedding you are no where near there are more important things to report on. For spending all day not telling anyone anything the Media is the Worst People of the Week

The Best and Worst Person of the week

July 25, 2010 at 4:16am

This weeks best person are the counter protesters who appeared at Comic Con on Thursday to counter the planed Westboro Baptist Church protest. Instead of meeting the group with anger they spoofed the so called Church with signs saying God hates Jedi, God hates Kittens, and so on. Several of the protesters appeared in costume from Bender to a member of Starfleet. Even Buddy Jesus appeared. Bravo for during what could have been a hateful display into one that was ignored.

This weeks worst people are both Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva, we've all heard the tapes by now, which is the first part this post. Mel Gibson, has no excuse for the things he has repeatedly said in those tapes, the fact this isn't the first time makes things even worse, if he isn't ashamed of himself he should be he is a man clearly in need of an intervention not for the sake of his career, there is little that can be done at this point to save that, but for the sake of his life. Oksana Grigorieva, you should have let things be, now with it looking as if the tapes were partly edited and the fact that it appears you pretty much Blackmailed Mel doesn't put you in the best light and now much of the favorable opinion you had has degraded while this doesn't make what Mel did any less wrong extortion is a crime in this country, being stupid and not knowing when to shut up isn't. The Two of you both deserve to be the worst people of the week for the crap you both have been pulling.

The Best and Worst Person of the week

July 10, 2010 at 0:51am

This weeks best and worst people don't include the media this week.

The Best Person hasn't had the best year and despite NBC's attempts to shut him out Conan O'Brian still walked away with more Emmy Nominations then Jay Leno. NBC had decided not to submit The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brian for Emmy consideration, it was Conan himself who put his run in as host of the Tonight show up for consideration and once again he stuck it to NBC and Jay Leno. For doing so Conan O'Brian is this weeks Best Person.

This weeks worst person is once again more then one person, Republican Candidates for Governor in Wisconsin Scott Walker and Mark Newman. They have been compaining about goverment waste and cutting spending, the usual footnotes for Wisconsin Republicans. But yet they make comments about cutting things that will just waste money. Both have stated that they would end the High Speed rail system that connects Minneapolis/St. Paul, Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago this is a system that was given Federal funds and would save people loads of money as they would no longer need to drive to Milwaukee, Chicago or the Twin Cities. This is even talk of connecting to Green Bay so if that were to happen fans could then take a train Packer and Brewer games and not have to worry about traffic. If both men are able to carry out their threat the state will have wasted over 100 Million dollars by the time they were to take office and have a half completed rail system.
Recently Mark Newman has said he would repeal the State wide Smoking ban, which took effect this week, and went on to say it wasn't a major issue and he likely wouldn't get around to it in his first 25 days. By the time he takes office the ban will have been in place for over 6 months and many would have grown used to it. In fact over the past year many bars and restaurants had made the move to go Smoke free. Repealing the ban would just waste all the money that went into implementing the ban and the money these businesses spent to make area's for smokers to go. What makes matters worse it won't matter as many cities had smoking bans in place anyway so repealing the ban does nothing.
For proposing the state throw away millions this weeks Worst People are Mark Newman and Scott Walker.
