Fall Field Trip Ideas for pumpkin patches and apple picking (various locations)
Contributed by our friend Maggie (Thank you Maggie!)
It is that time of year for pumpkin patches and apple picking.
Every year our family enjoys driving to Hood River for picking apples and going to
Rasmussen farms in Hood river to see the amazing things they do with their pumpkins.
Every year Rasmussen Farms has some sort of theme and paints their pumpkins and gourds to match that theme.
They also sell apples and various Oregon products. It is a beautiful drive to Hood River this time of year, with the trees turning colors.

Locally, there are various pumpkin patches.
Sauvie Island has various farms, and the Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island has a corn maize. Go to http://www.pumpkinpatch.com for more information.
I just saw where there is a pumpkin patch on Old Cornelius Road, called "Plumper Pumpkin Patch. Go to http://www.plumperpumpkins.com for more information.
Of course, there is Fir Point Farms, which has not only a wonderful pumpkin patch,
but also tree climbing goats and various activities for the children to do:

chickens, and fish while there.
Lastly, walking through Hoyt Arboretum during this time of year is absolutely beautiful with all the variety of trees in their beautiful fall colors: http://www.hoytarboretum.org/trees_plants
