K5 build
Specs - 1988 K5 / TBI 305 / NP 241/ 10 bolts
Plan
fit 38s with only 4 inches of lift.
Lift - front / stock rear K5 springs up front - gives 4 inchs of lift and moves the axle forward 2 inches
Rear / shackle flip - Free 4 inch lift
Axle - install the old Jeep axles and build a traction bar.
Body - Major trimming - Rock rails /front and rear bumpers
Safty - 8 point cage made with HREW
other mods - Np241/NP205 crawlbox
Hydro assist steering.

Build started!!
I dropped the rear axle and started the shackle flip.
I still have lots of metal to add on the stock hangers. Also the cuts on the pics will be cleaned up.
I'm hitting the wrecking yards nice and early tomorrow.

Removing the stock hanger is a major PITA. It took me 2 1/2 hour to remove 4 rivets.
All that cutting for nothing. The shackle angle is all wrong. Time to start up the welder and cutting torch

You gotta love working next to a gas tank. One wrong move and Boom .
I'm going to pull the tank tomorrow and finish removing rivets. I have 8 more to do.
