WHY ARE THERE ADS ON MY BOARD?
As of today, all boards will have regular sized (468x60) Google ads with text links. This is about as clean and non-obtrusive as it gets. Ads appear at the bottom of the page, and should not really interfere with the design of the boards.
Premium users will not see the ads.
This is a well thought decision on my part, simply put, I'm counting on the revenue from these ads to pay most of the hosting fees. The hosting fees will be multiplied by at least 4 by the end of december, as I will lose the cheap hosting I have now, and will have to buy an expensive one.
If the ads bother you to no avail, you have the option of upgrading your account to premium. I understand that upgrading doesn't work with all countries, because of the lousy system I can't do much about. Another system will be installed before the end of the year, which will work much better, cost less to the users, and work with any country, as it will work by credit card instead of a toll number.
There will also be an option of upgrading your whole board to premium, thus getting rid of all ads for all users browsing your board.
Don't ask me when it's ready, it will be done as soon as possible.

Thor, you made a typo in the link in the header. It says "Where are there ads on my board?" I believe you meant "Why are there ads on my board?"
Not a huge problem, but still an annoying one

Yeah, at the moment us premium members are kind of being abit cheated. I mean we were promised complete imunity from ads. Now all are users, when logoff, see those unsightly ads. Even worse is the fact that my forums for UO and the ads are for EQ. LOL
I honestly don't give a flying monkeys bottom that the ads are there. But having the option to choose the topic yourself is needed. I mean I have ads for EQ!!! and its UO shard. It's having a board for like slipknot and the google ad being for britney spears
Even better would be if I could choose the ads colors anyhow.
