Okay okay. I'll tell you.
Control Panel > Manage Forums > Manage the post icons
Then type in the URL for the smiley you want to add.
Remember, the smiley has to be hosted somewhere.

Ok. So, I was adding along and now I am having problems and it isn't working! What could be the problem? I thought at first it was the size, but I have several that are over 15x15, so I don't know! HELP PLEASE!!

Have you followed these steps?:
1. Add the new smiley addresses in the bottom empty boxes
2. Submit the information
3. Go back to the smilies screen via Control Panel>Board Management>Manage post icons.
4. Tick the box(es) to the right of the new addresses
5. Add a shortcut in the far right box (eg. :happy: )
6. Submit the data again.
Make sure the links are valid, too.

you cannot change the no. of columns in the smilies grid. The size is determined by the size of the images.
If possible
Place all the largest smilies in the first column. And then the smaller ones in the rest
then the widest column is column 1 and not all of them.
All note standard smilies are 16x16 in size, no bigger no less. If you want to use bigger images that is your prerogative.
A feature has been requested to alter the smilie box. However it is unknown if and when this will be introduced.
