Hi Arneatheon,

I don't know what you mean by "tile the link to the forum". Do you mean the page background?

Re: Css question

In your CSS, you currently have this:

body {margin: 0; font:400 12px verdana, tahoma, arial; background: #600 url(http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee49/rmontgomery92/backround.jpg);}

If you want it centered at the top of the page, change it to this:

body {margin: 0; font:400 12px verdana, tahoma, arial; background: #600 url(http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee49/rmontgomery92/backround.jpg) no-repeat center top; }

If you don't want the background image to move when you scroll the page, add fixed, like this:

body {margin: 0; font:400 12px verdana, tahoma, arial; background: #600 url(http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee49/rmontgomery92/backround.jpg) no-repeat fixed center top; }

Re: Css question

There's no way to resize a background image through CSS, so you would need to resize the image itself. Unfortunately, no one size will fit every monitor, so that isn't really an option with your particular image, either.

There is a way to fake it using a foreground image and absolute positioning, but you would have to start by taking your banner out of the Layout/Colors and putting it into the HTML, or a combination of HTML and CSS. I can help you with this if Pastor Rick doesn't beat me to it, but I won't be able to tonight because my friends will be taking me out shortly.

Re: Css question

Hi Arneatheon,

I hope you don't mind if I use your background image as the example... This is actually just stretching the image you have to fill the computers viewport so you may not like the results at very high screen resolutions but you can try this and see what you think:

In your HTML

<div id="background">
    <img src="http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee49/rmontgomery92/backround.jpg" class="stretch" alt="" />
</div>

In your CSS

#background {
    width: 100%;
    height: 100%;
    position: fixed;
    left: 0px;
    top: 0px;
    z-index: -1;
}

.stretch {
    width:100%;
    height:100%;
}

I did a test with this by putting the HTML and CSS at the very beginning in each of the respective areas and it works with the following browsers:

FireFox
IE 7 or better
Opera
Chrome
Flock
Safari

If you have to have browser support for IE6 that requires a different approach so give it a go and then let me know if you really need the IE6 method. emoticon

EDIT: on 2nd thought I placed the IE5 and IE6 coding in red that will also get it to work in Netscape 4.5 or better...
