Welcome to our message boards Martin. emoticon

I just happen to have a picture of your Honda Civic [albeit not a very good one] taken during the opening laps of the race.

Like our photographer guru Uncle Jeffy always says: "Dark colored cars don't show well in ice racing pics".

Mike,

This is Ben, Martin's son. I am the one with the radio who was standing in front of your pit for some time.

Thanks for posting the picture of my father. I was wondering if you had it in a bigger size?

Thanks to all the NY racers for coming up. I posted a lengthy thread about the event on the NMIRA forum. The Blizzaks are a plenty competitive tire in the right conditions. I have twice won third place at an NMIRA event in my street car(daily driven) with Blizzaks on them, so there is no reason they cannot run up in the top three with a good driver.

One small exception. There are many cars at our events that are not all dented, and to categorize them as every single car having every panel dented is not fair. Our CRX for instance had no dents at all, despite leading the entire first hour of the race. Yes there are some dents, and some damage, but many of these cars have been raced for 2-3 years or more. Just an observation.

I hope that you folks will come up on Sunday to run SL races. If you do so I will consider runnign my Swift GT with you. Thanks again for coming up.

Hello Ben,

It was a pleasure meeting you last weekend and welcome to our forums. emoticon

Yes Chris got a little carried away in describing the "typical" cars in your group. There were some nice ones there too no doubt!

You guys did a good job keeping tabs on what was happening on the track and officiating the race. Nice work!

Oops sorry, I forgot to answer that question. No, unfortunately my camcorder's still picture function is only one megapixel and I have it set to the size you see in the post. I saw Bob shooting some pics at the start/finish line.

Bob, did you get any pics of Ben's dad or my car?

I'll have to check the pics. i haven't even looked at them yet. been too busy getting track ready for the sun. race. The old dodge took a beating last night. My friend rob and myself were out plowing till 11:00pm to get the wet snow off the lake before the deep freeze.
I broke a front brake line, half of the snow foil and the push beam.Maybe i shouldn't be doing 50mph while plowing huh? My friend rob's dually with the 9' plow fared much better.Looks like you'll be plowing also. I've been up in the lake placid area it's nice. Good luck this weekend have a blast...bob koenig NMIRA
