I agree. The ad claimed 30 mpg and if you hypermild one of those..........
I am assuming that the 30 mpg ad was for the later V-4 cars and not the 2-strokers. Anyone know for sure?

Re: AMEC Economy Run II and Go-Kart Challenge
When I had my 96 on the road it used to run around 30 mpg. Acctually I never kept close tract of mileage since gas was so cheap back then. Another thing that helped was the "free wheeling" transaxle.

PS: I used to get about 1000 miles to a tank of oil.

Re: AMEC Economy Run II and Go-Kart Challenge
I didn't have much success (longevity) with the stroker triples, but I think mid 20's for fuel consumption (includes oil) was average or normal. I have now gone four stroke and don't regret it. My Sonett gets low / mid 30's as an average.
Time to pull the motor yet again and find out what's up with the clutch. Anyone know where I can get some 155 or 165-15 winter tires?

Re: AMEC Economy Run II and Go-Kart Challenge
In the never ending search for more mpg's I am on the hunt of a rare 3.54 final drive for my B210. Most 210's and B210's had 3.70's [like mine] or if equipped with an auto trans, 3.90's. OK, so my factory shop manual says that the 3.54's were available in the 1980 210 with 1.5 liter engine and a five speed. That certainly narrows the opportunities to find one. So I know where there is an '81 210 with that driveline in an old junkyard up in the woods. Here it is.
This place is up on a mountain and you can only get in there by foot. It isn't fun to carry everything you need for a job like this up that hill. But I am serious about improving mpg's so I rise to the occasion.
Pulling the axles......
I brought a come-a-long and other paraphernalia to git-r-done.
Doh! It's not a 3.54 but a garden variety 3.70 diff. My book said the 1980 cars had the 3.54, but this is an '81. I don't have a manual for the '81's. I thought they's be the same.

I made a post on the 210 group forum asking if anyone with a 3.54 diff was looking for better acceleration? I offered to swap my 3.70's with them.
I don't really expect a responce from anyone. Most of the people on that list are not diff swapping types.

Re: AMEC Economy Run II and Go-Kart Challenge
That reminds me. I was at my friend's shop and he removed 4 155X80 13 off his Sentra to make room for RallyCross tires.
Are you still looking for those?

YES! If you could get them or give me a number for him, I'd appreciate it. I'm headed down your way tomorrow night for the Spaghetti Dinner at the Craryville Fire House too.
On another note, 13" tires are becoming very hard to find. I think it's a good time to store some away while they're still available. For years I have thrown away the 4 for $99 Firestone coupons [for 155/80R13 only] I got in the mail. Now I finally would like to buy a new set and store them away. If anyone sees one of those coupons today please save it for me!

Developing the car for more mpg's over the winter.....
It isn't officially a junkyard any more. It closed years ago. I sort of know the owner from the old days.
By the way I found the 3.54 Datsun differential I was seeking in Idaho and it is on it's way to NY.
