Re: AMEC Economy Run IV - November 1st, 2009 + Go-Karts
I'd like to welcome our latest registered driver for Economy Run IV. Mr. Robert Kerly from Schoharie just joined the fray with his 1998 Mercury Tracer. He found out about the event from my thread on the Hemmings forums.

Who took this picture?
Assistance needed please. I have a gentleman from Nokian Tires who would like to use this pic in an advertising poster they want to produce. He is looking for the original high resolution file of this picture.
The only trouble is, I don't remember who took it?
Anyone here know?

It wasn't me, could have been Ronny Kienhuis. I do have a photo of the same car at the gas pumps all alone if needed.

Thanks Dave. It ended up being Ben from Ecomodder. I sent him an email but haven't heard back.

I'd like to welcome Dan Wren to the Gas class. Dan will be driving either a 1986 BMW 325es or 2000 Mazda Protégé. I'd say go ith the latter!

Re: AMEC Economy Run IV - November 1st, 2009 + Go-Karts
Hi guys,
The time is almost here! I am so glad I didn't schedule this event for this weekend as it is an all day soaker here today. I'll be driving the entire course again on Monday and will be writing the final route instructions. I will have them printed out for you all and will hand them out to you all at the driver's meeting. I'll let everyone know if there are any "tweaks" needed from the tentative course all drivers have been sent via email.
I'm looking forward to seeing the regulars come back for more and meeting all of the new drivers signed up for Economy Run IV.

Re: AMEC Economy Run IV - November 1st, 2009 + Go-Karts
I used my day off today to drive the new course and write clear, easy to follow route instructions for Economy Run IV. I'll say this, we can only hope for weather as beautiful as it was today for this Sunday's event. Bright blue skies and some of the best lighting of the season with the low angle of the sun this time of year.
Although we're a bit past peak leaf seson now, there is still some nice color out there with some late changing trees like the White Birch and others.
My automatic Protege's average for the day.
There's some beautiful country through Schoharie and Middleburgh. The roads are wide, smooth, and less travelled. Perfect for our event.
This is the site of our halfway check point in Blenheim, NY.
Along the Mohawk River......
Looking forward to this competitive, fun, and scenic fall drive on Sunday!

Re: AMEC Economy Run IV - November 1st, 2009 + Go-Karts
Looks like a great route Mike wish I could be there but I have to miss this one and I can't remember the last time I missed an AMEC event. That really blows. Thanks for all your hard work.

Re: AMEC Economy Run IV - November 1st, 2009 + Go-Karts
You're welcome Dave,
Economy Run IV participants: Remember that we will be having lunch and awards once again at Checker's Out Speedway Go-Kart track. For those of you who will be up for running the two 50 lap go-kart races afterwards..... Don't forget your helmets!
Owner Donny Greco said he will give us two 50 lap races for just $25. A $10 "licence" is also required [good for 1 year].
