Dealers looking for economy cars

I just got a flyer from my local Ford dealer and they will give me "full market value" towards a trade.
It said that the market is running short on cars like my ZX2/SR.

Ps: curious as to what is the "full market value ".

That's interesting Richard.

Unfortunately eight year old Ford Escorts aren't worth much. And used economy car buyers don't really care [or even know] of what an S/R is. Keep that baby!

Now with a Honda or Toyota, then you're talking some good resale value.

That's rather diparaging.
NADA book value says $4500
Anyway, I have no intention of getting rid of my SR since it is one of 2000 and one of 500 red ones.
I just thought the flyer was interesting and giving an idea of the way the car business is going.

The dealer is looking to sell new cars, not buy used ones. Don't think so? Ask how much of that "full market value towards a trade" they'll offer if you DON'T trade, but offer to sell it it to them outright.

Oh sure. I just thought it was intersting that they are looking for economy cars to be traded in since they are running out of them due to the demand.
