Neat bunch of cars in that video. I like how they used a tree as a cone too. Is that DV's white 96?

Re: AMEC Autocross at Albany Saratoga Speedway November 7th or 8th
anyone have a helmet i can borrow? i was going to grab my friend's but he needs it now. all the past events i've done with NYR SCCA they've had ones i can borrow.. just havent gotten around to buying one yet.
and i'll probably be running on snow tires unless anyone has stock(ish) size subie wheels and tires i can throw on for the race i have a friend whos making a call to see if anyone does, and my friend who has fresh yokohamas on his impreza wont let me steal his for a day, even though i help him with his car all the time.
and will be allowed to leave a few things in the pit area? like spare, jack, etc.

I have an extra Snell 2000 helmet I can bring.
You can leave anything you like in the pit area while we are running the event. Just take it home when you are done.
I don't think we have any specific rules against snow tires but you might chew them up a lot on the pavement.

Re: AMEC Autocross at Albany Saratoga Speedway November 7th or 8th
awesome dave, thanks. and yea, i figured there wouldnt be rules against them, but theyre going to get really chewed up. i do drive fairly aggressively on the street anyway, and they're holding up pretty well with 38/36 psi f/r but the sidewalls are insanely soft and roll all over the place. hopefully my buddy pulls through with a set of wheels... even bald RE92s will be better than goodyear ultra grip ice snows haha.
looking forward to it regardless! cant wait!

Re: AMEC Autocross at Albany Saratoga Speedway November 7th or 8th
Get the waiting list fired up again. I can't make it. Fast car has a clunk in the LF and the slow car is well, slow. I have no guilt, knowing that another lucky wait-lister will now jump for joy. I will likely still come down to spectate in the pm. Thanks.

Course Layout finished!! Very Fast.
Attention all who will read this tonight before the big game tomorrow, A huge thanks to the team of people who arrived today before 10am and worked until about 2pm setting up, changing, testing and then adjusting the course for tomorrow big day.( Dave B, Bruce C, **** V, Pat S, Rob R, John S, Stan W, Humpty and Ed Lyons... what a bunch of get er done people)
In case you were wondering how things turned out.....well....lets say the advertised "high speed" part is accurate and on point. Reaching speeds of nearly 70mph in a stock four door honda (car owner will remain nameless for one mans sake) with no air pressue adjustments and two people in the car...
Everything is set and the plans are made for the biggest AUTO X event in the Capital District in over 40 years. Tomorrow's weather is mostly sunny, highs in the mid 40's... so the condensed air just adds to the HP game..
We are excited, Mr Richards the track owner is excited and the response to this idea has been well, more then anyone had expected.
The course is smooth flowing and fast.
No one should be disappointed to say the least. If fact, accuracy is the name, speed is the game. You wanted fast....you got wide open throttle boys and girls.
I'm getting to bed early as the 5:30am mark comes early here. Remember: Gates open at 7:30am sharp. The sooner you arrive the sooner you'll be ready... Remember some warm clothes and your helmet, dump all the crap from you car...floors, pockets and trunk area. Make sure your tires are on tight and so is your head.
I'll see you all in the morning at tech. Sleep well my little racers....tomorrow, we make history!!

I also have a spare helmet.
Be aware, the slalom appears to be a killer.
Of cones,that is.
The crew worked really hard to get a fast but safe course.
All test driving was done by non competing drivers.
See you all in the morning.

Re: AMEC Autocross at Albany Saratoga Speedway November 7th or 8th
I have extra helmets (6-7 of them).
Pending final word from the Auto X Team, I will bring them with me.
I will need collateral for them as they are close to $150 each!!

#08 Chris Holmes - [white 1995 Chevy Camaro] borrowed a strap wrench from the unregistered guy in the white/red drift Toyota AE86 today. Chris needs to return the wrench I have no contact info for the Toyota guy [who I think is Ben something]? Anyone know how to contact the guy with the drift car?
