May 29th & 30th
Greg raced the #6J Farley Racing machine at Bloomington Speedway on Friday, May 29th and Lincoln Park Speedway on Saturday, May 30th.
Friday night ended in a bad way thanks to me! Greg finished his heat race 3rd. That lined him up in the middle of the pack for the feature. Well, early on in the feature, I was trying to work my way to the bottom of the track and I spun out in turn 4. Greg had nowhere to go and hit me in the left front corner of my car. That ended the night for both of us and we both were hauled to the pits on the hook.
Greg's car had a broken right rear leaf spring, broke the drive shaft, transmission and bell housing. We worked on Greg's car all day Saturday to get him ready to go for Saturday night at Lincoln Park Speedway.
We wanted to make sure he got put back together because he is leading the points champoinship at LPS. Thank goodness he had extra parts around the garage.
After getting a late start to the track, Greg missed his heat race due to an error when looking at the line-ups. Thank goodness there was only 12 cars there. He lined up towards the back of the feature. Greg was able to work his way through the field and was in the 3rd spot before we knew it! Greg was one of the few that was able to run the bottom of the track, at least until the caution came out for an incident in turn 2 where one car busted his radiator and water got all over the bottom in turn 2. That made turn 2 really slick and Greg had to go high to stay out of the slick spot. Third is where Greg stayed for the remainder of the race, not being able to pick off Doug McCullough, #19M, who finished second behind Cullen Goodman, #1ST, who captured the feature win.
--- Jesus is the way to victory Lane!
