July 24th - Bloomington Speedway
Greg has been working on his car and was putting a new body on it over this past week. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned. When Friday night came about, his car was not ready to go racing. If Greg missed a race, it could be detrimental to his points standings, both at Bloomington Speedway and in the UMP sanctioning. Heading into Friday night, Greg was 6th at Bloomington Speedway, 1st at Lincoln Park Speedway, 6th in the National UMP Points, and 3rd in the Regional UMP Points.
Greg wound up running my #16t on Friday night. He started the tail of his heat race. He worked his way through the field into the 2nd spot. On the last lap, the bad luck fairies landed on the #71 of Brad Cummings and allowed Greg to pass for the win in turn 4. Greg then started 5th in the feature. He worked his way into 2nd before falling back to third where he stayed for the remainder of the race. Great run, Greg!
Greg held onto his 6th place ing the Bloomington Speedway standings. UMP will not update their standings until later in the week.
