*Happy* - lost 9lbs in weight!!!

Okay... so I'll admit it - I'd put weight on... that's a major *skrike* which has been an ongoing problem (I'm a classic 'yoyo dieter' in that my weight's up and down - anywhere between approx. 14 - 17 stone!).
Anyhow - excuses this time even though I'd been exercising a lot:
"Being on nights" (excuse to eat crap).
"Overdoing the junk food" (pizzas/chippy/takeaway curry/chocolate).
"Celebrating" (birthdays/new job... basically ANY excuse to scoff).

Anyhow - after much deliberation and various diets that have worked albeit for a short period (including the 'split carbs/protein diet' and the 'low G.I.' diet) Mrs. Dearth has helped me suss it thanks to the 'weightwatchers' plan where things are worked out by 'points'.

Now as someone who's interested in Mental Health Issues (good job really - it IS my job! emoticon) I'm all for any sort of 'Cognitive Behavioural' stuff - and I've analysed th cr*p out of my weight gain/loss - so I reckon 'in my head' it's all sorted now - and the use of this system apeals to me and I reckon will help re: behavioural change through a 'token'/'reward' system that also allows one to take charge and be aware of limitations.

I'll not go on re: this - just to say that it's working!

16St 2 down to 15St 7lbs!

I'll admit - I'm still a fat b*st*rd - no point going down the 'big-boned' or 'husky' route - I've come to terms with it - but as long as it's going down, I'm chuffed!

emoticon

Congratulations N! - Jason uses the Weightwatchers points system too, to keep on the straight and narrow, especially after when he gives in to temptation around Christmas/Holidays etc. The biggest thing though has been him not touching a drop of alcohol since last August. You don't drink alcohol either do you N?

No I do not touch it at all... which makes it difficult for me to do my Rab C. Nesbitt impressions considering I'm doing a feller that's 'blootered' 24/7!

Also went to the gym this a.m. and did 25 X 25m lengths then came back for my dinner.

swimming is great all-round exercise!

Jason weighed over 15 stone 4 years ago and he had a health scare feeling really out-of-breath etc, so he started by swimming and when he'd lost a stone or two that's when he got back to his running.
Now he fluctuates between 10 1/2 - 11 stone.

Tell him to hang on there though - I'll try and catch him up - weightwise that is!

Cheers Missus - and ta for letting me know about the 'Weightwatchers' pizza... that'll help - I DID find out by doing a search online... 7 points for the big pizza, 3.5 for the 'Pizza Ovals' - now I'll have to nip and get one!
