*Updated* Second SA X-Trail Meetup (Saturday 24th October, 2009)
OK, the second SA Australian X-Trail meetup is TODAY! (Saturday 24th October)
Meet at Carrisbrook Reserve, Main North Road. It is opposite the old spot hotel on the northbound side of Main North Road at 11am for a 1130ish start.
Join us for an afternoon cruising the Barossa area. Ill have the twins polished up and a few other goodies that i picked up from my recent trip to Sydney.
If you have a UHF try ch10.
Wives, kids all welcome, bring a picnic lunch or BBQ - what ever you like. Just rock up about 11am, all xtrails welcome!
Members so far:
Dronus + Wife (if she gets out of bed) + kids.
Fishy05 + Anita? (Maybe 2 x-trails!)
Barney (maybe, he has a long day beforehand)
Waky53 (maybe meeting at Whispering Wall)
cantona07
Meet at the park opposite the Old Spot hotel on Main North Road for meet and greet. Head up One Tree Hill road, and out the back road to the Para Wirra Reserve. Some Dirt roads still exist, but nothing challenging. Head through the reserve and out the other side to the Whispering Wall near Williamstown. Have a break here and whisper sweet nothings to your other half around the wall. Good photo spot too. You can whisper sweet nothings to me, but you might not get any back.
Head out through Lyndoch to the Barossa for a poke around some wineries, or head over to Mount Crawford forest for some photo opertunities in the bush.
Inline with the instructi
ons for organising a trip via the forum i am posting this link below.
This trip contains some dirt roads, but nothing that would require any special equipment.
This link should appear in the first post of every off-road (or beach) event that is being organized through the forum.HERE

Re: Second SA X-Trail Meetup.
Ok, i was just packing the XTrail forum flag up to send back to Jalal, and i thought i would try for a last minuite meetup.
How does this Saturday sit with everyone?
Vote on the following runs (nice and easy, all roads apart from any dirt that you can find if you like).
RUN #1
Meet at the park opposite the Old Spot hotel on Main North Road for meet and greet. Head up One Tree Hill road, and out the back road to the Para Wirra Reserve. Some Dirt roads still exist, but nothing challenging. Head through the reserve and out the other side to the Whispering Wall near Williamstown. Have a break here and whisper sweet nothings to your other half around the wall. Good photo spot too. You can whisper sweet nothings to me, but you might not get any back.
Head out through Lyndoch to the Barossa to Nuriotpa or somewhere (open for suggestions as im not from this area).
Run #2
Meet at the carpark on Main south road, O'Halleran Hill (halfway up south road is that road that goes up to the carpark.) meet and greet. and photos over Adelaide
From here head out to Sellicks hill for a drive up Mt Terrible to the ramps. I was up there last weekend and the hard ramp was very very worn and not recommended for x-trails (some of the advanced ppl might like to try it though if they are game!) There is a chicken track which goes along side which goes a magnificent look out over the southern area. (More photos).
Head back down to a nice waterfall which is not too far away, and then over to Mt Bold resevoir which has recently been opened to allow water though.
Back to adelaide via clarendon or Mt barker if you live over that way.
How does this sound? Anyone wanna do it on Saturday? I have family commitments on sunday.

Re: Second SA X-Trail Meetup.
OK number 1 works for us and we could bring both Xtails for the photo shoot. The 4wd club we are in did a observation trial through the Barosa a few months back starting from the whispering wall so that is a good option.
I have also sent a email with a link to this page to Harryzel, Cuffs and with a forward to Wacky53

Re: Second SA X-Trail Meetup.
Thanks for the "heads up" Greg, at the moment I am in Manchester, UK, just had a week or so in Abu Dhabi, I am due back into Adelaide at 0900 Saturday. The wife will be picking me up in the X trail as she much prefers it to the Corolla. If the timing works I would really like to catch up with everyone but I do not see myself being allowed out for the whole day, probably not even capable after that trip. The Old Spot is one of my favoured watering holes and is on the way home from the airport, we have to drive right past it to get home. Would really like to finish the rest of the days activities but will probably have already set a record for travelling the greatest distance to attend a forum event. Hope to see you all soon.
Regards,
Barney.
