Re: Stockton Beach, Hunter Valley & NSW X-mas Trip
The weekend of 28th is currently free in our calendar, but I haven't even mentioned it to Clare yet...

Re: Stockton Beach, Hunter Valley & NSW X-mas Trip
Hi all, time for an update, especially since these dates are only 3 or 4 weeks away.
Revhead Kev 28th/29th
Basshead 28th/29th
shoni 28th/29th
rescue1 28th/29th (or 5th/6th dec)
RockDr 28th/29th (or 5th/6th dec)
sexy rexy 21st/22nd (or 5th/6th dec)
Alex70 21st/22nd (or 5th/6th dec)
So at this stage 28th Nov seems to have the majority, albeit a small group.
Jalal, no post on a preferred date from you ?
Anyone else interested in a daytrip instead of camping over the weekend can post their preference for a day and we can organise a start time which would allow them to travel and meet us at the campsite early in the morning. These people should also nominate if they prefer beach or bush or both to help plan both days.
Remember we were planning on having this as our Christmas get-together as well so if you just want to come up and say "hello" to some other members then you are also welcome to post your intention to join us for the Saturday night gathering.
Sexy Rexy, hope you don't mind me pushing things along a bit to fix a date

Re: Stockton Beach, Hunter Valley & NSW X-mas Trip
Guys,
I will let you know by end of this week if I can make this trip at all. the 21st is out of the question for me anyway.
Things are getting pretty busy here, so am not sure at this stage.

Re: Stockton Beach, Hunter Valley & NSW X-mas Trip
Going by this long-range rain forcasting website there is a high chance of rain on 21st/22nd and NO chance of rain 28th/29th Nov.

Re: Stockton Beach, Hunter Valley & NSW X-mas Trip
Hang on a bit Rich.
If you check the chart again there is plenty of rain in the weeks/days leading up to the 28th/29th.
So this means that we get the fun of the mud, without the hassle of the wet weather and a nice sunny day for the beach as well.
How much better than this do you want it ?

Re: Stockton Beach, Hunter Valley & NSW X-mas Trip
Hi folks,
No worries Kev I have not had time to scratch myself lately with work etc. let alone organising a trip. We should be available either 29/11 or 5/12 weekends. It would be great to meet up for a Christmas get together on Stockton Beach.

It wasn't the mud I had in mind (for once ) but that the sand wouldn't be compacted (and thus resulting in the BFG's digging-in too much) - but as you mentioned if it's going to be raining days before, it might still be wet...

Hi Guys,
Sorry, but I won't be able to make this trip at all as I am starting a new job this month and I know it will be very hectic in the new working environment with the new company. I am sure you guys will have plenty of fun.

OK Dennis, so can we lock this trip date in for the weekend of 28th/29th November, especially since Rich has that weekend (one of very few) available ?
We all need to start booking campsites if we are thinking of staying overnight.
UPDATE:
Just called Birubi Park, spoke with Helen and enquired about accomodation availability for the 28th/29th.
Minimum booking is for 2 nights, so that would be either Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun depending on your preference. Late checkin on Fri night is done by collecting keysand gate pass in special box at the office.
There are all accomodation types (tent, powered, powered onsuite, deluxe cabin, ensuite cabin) still available, except Standard Cabins, and there are a few groups already booked in on what is normally a busy time.
