Re: Posting photos
Hi Guys,
Another good place that I found which will host your pics for free is:
http://www.imageshack.us/
All you need to do is load your pics there and copy the URL into your post.
The best code to copy accross is the Thumbnail Code Forums (1) for the posting into Forums, this would ensure that a small version of your pic is posted in the forums, which members can click on to enlarge. It also helps reduce the space required and the time it takes to load the images if you were to post full size images.
It is also a good idea to register with ImageShack (for free) to keep track of your uploaded images.

Creating Thumbnails in ImageShack
1. Log-in into ImageShack and upload your image (assuming that you're already registered with them for free and received your activation link)
2. Once you have finished uploading the image, look for Thumbnail Code Forums (1) (highlighted in red in the sample image below for illustration purposes only, the highlight colour might be different to what your computer setting is)
NOTE: If you are using ImageShack in Modern View, you will need to do the following to get the correct code:
A. Click on the "Image Details" button to get the codes. This page is viewable from the "My Images" command in your ImageShack profile.
B. Copy the FORUM code and make sure that the Thumbnail Mode is ticked:
3. Copy the highlighted thumbnail code into your post on the forum (leave spaces after the text)
4. Press the Preview in your post button to make sure everything is looking good and all codes are working fine and then press submit reply. (see smaples below)
5. Here is the thumbnail copied across to the post
6. You can always go back and Edit your post if you want to add or change something in it (including images)
If you have chosen to register with ImageShack you can go to My Images at the top of the page and this will list all of the images you have uploaded.
The thumbnail code is located next to the uploaded images (highlighted in red is the sample image here):
That's basically it.
Once you try it a couple of times, you'll see how easy it is to use this feature.
P.S. All of the posted thumbnails in any post are clickable images that can be enlarged, so when you see a thumbnail (small pic) image included in a post, click on it to view it in it's original size (usually bigger)
========
I have created video tutorials showing every step on how to upload photos in ImageShack and how to post them on the forum, so...."follow the bouncing ball" as they say
There are 2 ways to post photos on the forum:
The Long Way (through ImageShack)
VIDEO TUTORIAL #1
The Quick Way (through the ImageShack Upload button from within the "Add Reply" Screen)
VIDEO TUTORIAL #2
To watch the videos in Full Screen mode, just click on the bottom right hand-side little square near the speaker control in YouTube.

Re: Posting photos
Yes.
I believe Photo Bucket also offers the required codes to post images on forums and sites, so you just need to make sure you're using the correct code for "Forums"
In your case you have used the incorrect HTML code for web sites and you will need to replace it with the following:
[img]http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b247/craftartyfacts/4wdonCoffsbeach.jpg[*/img]
Just remove the (*) sign at the end.

*New Forum Code*Uploading Photos*
Hi Guys,
I have played around with the ImageShack Code and with help from ccwf (Runboard Guru) I have been able to add the direct photo upload from the forum post to ImageShack as part of Add Reply, Post New Topic and for Admin Team the Edit Post pages.
Every member will now have the ability to directly upload photos from their PC to ImageShack when they're compiling a new post and all you need to do is grab the ImageShack Thumbnail Code-Forums and paste it into your post and you're set to go.
Always press Preview to make sure the post looks OK before hitting "submit reply"
Here is the location of the ImageShack upload box.
Please note that Imageshack is an external website and therefore may go down for any reason at anytime (example) scheduled outage, therefore the availability of the image upload box is NOT guaranteed when you make a post. It can be therefore considered as Best Effort Service!

Re: Posting photos
Looks like it will simplify things. Now with all this ingenuity, can you just organise a free digital camera for each member, so we can get the photos flowing really quickly?

Re: Posting photos
Yes Dave. We're trying to make posting photos easier for everyone, so if we see anymore of these monster pics we can complain accordingly. hehehe
Digital cameras for everyone? Hmmm, good suggestion. I think it would be cheaper to contract a professional photographer for our club LOL

Re: Posting photos
Jalal,
I love it but have one question.
Will the uploaded pic go into My Images if I am logged on to Imageshack or will it go into the general images area ?
