Re: Members Ranking

LOL Mark,

Yeah I saw your post last night and thought "Hmmm, maybe we need give Mark a unique rating called "Veteran Newbie". hehehe

As Noel correctly stated it all has to do with the level of contribution to the forum through posts.

Thanks for your kind words of encouragement, you're free to share our link with whomever and I actually started to notice our link being mentioned in MANY sites which is always good to see emoticon

Exciting times a head for all of us!

Hmmm. a "lurker" is usually not a registered member of the forum which is not the case with members registering and not posting.

It will be very hard to manage the ranks in this type of situations and would have to be manually granted to each one that falls into such a category, so I'd rather have this system unified for all members and not do this.

The "newbie" status is there for your first 100 posts only anyway, it does not reflect your registration status, but it does reflect the level of contribution to the forum in terms of content.

P.S. By "content" I don't mean making 100 posts saying "Hi" to everyone. hehehe This wont work and you'll be caught-out!

Re: Members Ranking

These forums are great, it's only a pity it doesn't have the same features as phpbb. One feature that would be good would be "Show me posts since last visit".

That is true, however as a free board, it has plenty of good features which we can use and Ruboard keep improving and pushing out new features as they go and I will make sure we implement every single one of them which would make navigating around the forum easier for you guys.

I feel like a new person emoticon

Lucky for the 'date joined' bit. And if you don't post a lot, it definitely doesnt mean you're not as much a fan of the xtrail as a person who posts 10 a day. Some of us are still on dial up and it takes 10 yrs for a post to go through so don't blame us!! emoticon

Re: Members Ranking

I currently have web hosting that can allows use of a MySQL database and php scripting. I have spare bandwidth and server space so if you are ever interested or perhaps something goes wrong with Ruboard, keep it in mind.

Anyway it is only a minor problem but I am surprised the feature isn't even offered as a upgrade for paying customers.
