Re: T31 diesal engine seized.

I do not want to cause panic at all,and i found this a bit hard to believe,as this would be a rare situation, but stranger things have happened. My mate is a car lover and yes that is all i know that the dealer said oil pump failure but who knows, anyway i believe it is now being repaired.I wish i had more knowledge.I also said to my mate i am going to post this on the X-trail site, and he said fine because this is true, and he works with the X-trail owner.
Would be a one off i would think, and i thought i would just tell it as it was told to me.

Very hard for me to get any more information as i do not know the owner,so there it is,i will pass on any more information when and if i get it cheers

Re: T31 diesal engine seized.

Ray,

It would be good if your mate can ask the owner to join our forum and tell us exactly what went wrong, that way we can get the information straight from the horses mouth sort of speak.

For the oil pump seizure to cause such extensive damage, the owner would have had some sort of warning that the engine wasn't running properly (example: overheating, flashing check engine light....etc)

Has the repair been covered under warranty?

or ask your mate to introduce you to the owner and say where you are from and if they would like to join the forum.

This is very interesting how the engine ended up seized ,with the collapse of the oil pump!

Look forward to hearing more!

Regards Scot

Re: T31 diesal engine seized.

I did not comment at all for two weeks as i wanted to know what was the supposed cause of the engine seizing.Remember also i had my petrol X-trail cutting out and it took three trips to the dealership and a educated guess to replace my crank sensor and no fault code was ever recorded on the computer, but it fixed the problem.I like you people would like to know more,i will invite the owner through my mate to log on and comment, that is all i can do.I do not like to speculate. cheers

No worries Ray. We can then assume owner's fault was probably a factor in this saga.

I do not know really,he is not into joining sites or telling his private business to all,i can not assume anything really, and it is unfair to do so.I feel any information about this is good to have anyway and that is it.cheers
