Re: Throttle body spacer

Just checked my packaging and I am running an OBX from the States. No dramas what so ever and came with the extended bolts and O rings. Part number 11089

Re: Throttle body spacer

Excuse my ignorance (and I couldn't be bothered reading 31 pages) but what does a throttle body spacer do?
What i can work out is that it extends the throttle intake. but why?
Can this be also done to a T31 as it is the same engine minus butterfly screws?

Sorry Tony, I don't see the benefit of repeating what we have discussed and explained already all over again just because you don't want to read the information presented to you. Read this thread carefully when you have time and you'll find the answers.

I don't think it will fit the T31 as the throttle body size is different, but you may be able to find a TBS which has been designed for the 2008 Sentra Spec-V which has the same engine as the T31 petrol.

Re: Throttle body spacer

Wow, after reading the previous pages, I want one.
I might have to wait till I get a few other mods done first to really benefit from a TBS.
Can't really do it untill the car warrenty expires in a couple of years. emoticon

Re: Throttle body spacer

Recieved my OBX tbs 2day. Wil attempt fitting 2mrw morning. Lets hope I get it in the right way around, there are no markings on the outside as per the Chaos brand & no fitting instructions provided. As for cost; US $50 + $25 shipping (Aus $95). emoticon

Re: Throttle body spacer

The way I see it, if you look "through" the spacer the thread should tighten.
The wider groove in the thread of the throttle body, should be the side closest to the air filter if its not marked at all.
Hope this makes sense emoticon

Re: Throttle body spacer

Hi Dave
on one side i have the part # and it says T.B side, on the other side it just has the part #. By looking at the pics on this thread it looks like the side with the writing on it will be nearest the air intake, is this correct?

Darn, as I typed you went off line.

Re: Throttle body spacer

Chris,

Post pics of it and we can tell you which side.

Also, have a closer look at the grooves inside the spacer, one end of the grroves are pointy and the other end is wide.

The wider end of the grroves needs to be in contact with the intake manifold.

Re: Throttle body spacer

Hi Chris and everyone else that bought the OBX TBS.

Is this the one you have received?

Image

If so, this looks like a cosmetic item only as the grooves are circular and won't do anything to generate the needed swirl inside the intake manifold.
