I'd imagine that 28psi figure is accumulated by the turbo and supercharger, not total from each.
As in maybe 10 from the supercharger at below 3500rpm, and 18 from the turbo above that?

cos I'd expect more than 118kW from a 1400cc with almost 2 bar of boost...

that said, the 240nm or torque is VERY impressive! (considering our 4 bangers spin out only 245)

i just double checked my training manuals and its says 125kw (also a 103kw version avail) absolute pressure of 2.5 bar with 10:1 compression ratio. also it has torque over 200Nm from 1250rpm to 6000 rpm!

10:1 compression ratio!
and 2.5bar! thats insane!

thats nuts, not wonder its got such an impressive torque rating.
id love to feel that torque curve hey

trust the Europeans to come up with something as cool as the TSI.

found info on the Golf TSI sold in australia here, check it out!

I guess the answer to your question based on the replies thus far is:

It can work and will work with major modifications to your car and is very costly.

Hopefully you can evaluate what is involved in such a modification and weigh it up against other more "affordable" mods which you can do by researching our forum.
