Re: Replacement Brakes

Hi Guys,

The new GreenStuff EBC brakes are in (thanks to Richi for helping me out fitting them)

A full DIY report with pics will be published soon.

What can I say, my 1st hard braking out of Richi's street and the exy nearly flipped-over! This how good the grip on these new front brake pads =D Just kidding of course.

Seriously though, it only took a couple of presses on the brakes and they were fully functional and the difference it has made compared to my old ones (which had about 5mm left on them) is huge.

They look cool too emoticon

Will have to monitor the brake dust to see if any is going to accumulate or not (it should not)

As for brake dust - should be noticeable LESS than the standard pads...

And I reckon there was only about 3mm left on your original pads (36,000k's, wasn't it?)

(Edit by Jalal) created a thumbnail image.

Re: Replacement Brakes

Hi Guys,

For those of you who need to know that part number and the look of the genuine nissan front brake pads, I have attached a pic of them below.

Image

The price is around $135/set of 4 pads from the dealers (not including fitting)

Re: Replacement Brakes

Hi Guys,

I'll be up for rear brake pads replacement in about 5,000kms as Nissan advised me at the last service and I have chosen the EBC GreenStuff for my rear as I do have them on the front and pretty happy with them.

The rear pads are not available in Australia (yet) as confirmed by EBC, so I'm arranging for them to be imported from the UK for me and was quoted a price of $105 for the rear set by a local EBC Dealer in Sydney.

The part number is DP61666

If anyone wants a set I can give you the contact number of the distributor in Sydney that can order them for you.

I would also like to advise that I have done 10,000km's since I fitted my front brake pads (EBC GreenStuff) with Richard's help and I'm absolutely happy with their performance so far.

They produce no brake dust and their gripping power is awesome. No squeaking either (except during the initial run-in period of around 200kms or so)

I would recommend these brake pads to anyone as a good alternative to the nissan pads.

P.S. I will write a full report after I've done 20,000kms with these brakes on.

Re: Replacement Brakes

Just replaced my rear brake pads at 46,300kms and I had about 2mm left, so I didn't want to hear the squeaking and decided to get the new ones fitted now.

As I have Green Stuff EBC brake pads at the front, I have deiced to go with the same brand for the rear.

It took me 15 minutes to do both sides and the braking is awesome.

Of course am gonna follow the 320kms bedding in period instructions and avoid any sharp braking during this time.

Re: Replacement Brakes

I have looked at the EBC6000, but I can't get them out my way. Is anyone running any other type of 'upgraded' brake pads and what costs am I looking at.

I have always used Bendix 4wd in the past and they have never let me down.

Thanks Jalal, due to your DIY Brake guide, I can now spend more $$$ on the pads, as I can do it myself and save $100 on fitment.

Re: Replacement Brakes

I thought that i might be up for a set of front and rear pads soon.Exy has done 60,000ks and the report is not yet, should last you till 100,000ks.Country driving, also automatic tranny,so the pads last iff you do not live on the brakes and do not do much city driving.
