Re: X-Trail Strut Bar
I should also add that any added strength to the chassis is always a good thing - every time I've got stuck somewhere (wheels off the ground for example, on dunes @ Stockton/Kurnell, or one wheel hanging in a hole @ Charmhaven ), and I've had to go and open the boot to get recovery gear out, I've noticed it's almost impossible to close the boot door again because of the flex/twist of the chassis when it's not evenly supported by 4 wheels planted firmly on the ground.

Re: X-Trail Strut Bar
Car bars should fit straight onto it. You should only look for one that fits the upper suspension mount of the x-trail...
I did mine with Sentra SER Vspec (front one)..but for the rear one dont want to because it will look..kind of, ugly.

Re: X-Trail Strut Bar
HI driftking,
Yes, the bar that mounts on top of the front suspension is the one I'm looking for (see the pic in page 1 of this thread)
And yes, the rear one looks ugly and it'll take-up space.

Re: X-Trail Strut Bar
Hi Paul,
I'm glad you made it to the forums.
to the Australian Exy site
Will let everyone know once I get more details about the strut bar. They don't have the rear one however, so it's just the front.
Please make sure you visit the The Hall Of Fame and let other members know about the excellent deal you scored on your Black exy with all the accessories
Also, please update the location in your profile when you get a chance.
Enjoy your stay mate.

But I think that the main problem with the x-trail chasis is the big rear opening...it makes the chassis les stiffer.
I was thinking about fitting it the other day, since my X now has a lot of groans at the back end and that doenst sounds very good lately...
So, I did some research, and it looks like almera bars will fit the x-trail too(its the same platform). But I would first test it and then buy it.
Jalal, you were the one who installed a suspension lift onyour exy? Did you loose too much downward travel? complete wheel travel?. Is the suspension stiffer or softer?.
Also, I was wondering, during your visit to arb(correct me if Im wrong with you please
=D ) Did you notice if they had air lockers for x-trails? or at least LSD...
Since that drives me mad:S everytime that Im losing momentum because of wheel travel issuues...

Re: X-Trail Strut Bar
Hi driftking,
I haven't installed the lift kit on mine (didn't see any need for it as yet).
It was xtrailing & swagman4x4 who had them fitted and you can read all about their experiences HERE
And it was Rich (basshead) who visted ARB and the details of his visit are in the same thread above (page 6 and 7)
Good luck
