PRAISE THE LOWERED!

haha put the springs in yesterday morning, took me 1hr 20mins working by myself, with a lap of the block after doing the rears before i did the fronts. i painted the springs during the week because they came matt black so i used my left over brake caliper paint sprayed the coils blue to match my brakes haha. deep down i wanted it alittle lower but sensible me got 55mm lowered. the springs are fresh so it should drop another 5-10mm over then next few weeks. (not sure if thats too many pics, sorry if it is jalal)

NEW REGULATIONS REGARDING LOWERED SUSPENSION

Hi Guys,

Dave has just shared an article with us which clearly states that ALL suspension lifts will now be impacted by the new regulations detailed HERE from August 1, 2009

I will copy the contents of the article below just in case the link goes dead:

quote:

Approval from RTA needed to raise or lower car suspension
Print Page: Print July 16, 2009
Article from: Australian Associated Press

NEW laws making it an offence to raise or lower a car's suspension without proper approval is about saving lives, New South Wales Roads Minister Michael Daley says.

From August 1, car owners will be limited to raising or lowering their suspension by no more than five centimetres, and all modifications will need approval from Roads and Traffic Authority engineers.

Currently, a car can be raised or lowered by up to five centimetres without approval and by up to 15 centimetres with approval.

Mr Daley says while drivers may think a lowered car looks "cool" it really is dangerous and any adjustment of more than five centimetres doesn't belong on the road.

"I don't want to see young hoons putting their lives or the lives of others at risk, just because they think their car looks better 15 centimetres closer to the ground," Mr Daley said.

"Raising or lowering a vehicle's height can put the driver, passengers and other road users at risk.

"It can affect handling, braking and safety features such as electronic stability control."

Any vehicle that is raised or lowered after August 1 will have to carry a certificate stating that the modifications confirm to safety standard requirements.

Re: Suspension lowered

That's for you to find out from your RTA mates Taylor emoticon

Let us know what you hear about this cause it doesn't make sense to me at all.

I guess they now expect you to carry a document proving or showing when the suspension modifcation was done, so if you get pulled-over you gonna have to prove that it was done 12 months ago by a suspension specialist (and not in your own driveway)

Re: Suspension lowered

Taylor your proof of install prior to the date mentioned is easy. You are reading it with the time date stamp in plain view for all to see. Yeah for us

Re: Suspension lowered

Jalal,

Good idea as it would be easier to show the police the posts printed on hand than to refer them to the forum as it would be a big ask for them to do that. Better to be safe than sorry
