Re: T31 Suspension Lift & Air Bag assist

It's a real shame they do not make a standard set of these for the T30 (different suspension)

I spoke to the guys and they said they can custom up a set but at about $1500 for the front and $2000 for the back, I can't see anyone doing that.

Re: T31 Suspension Lift & Air Bag assist

G'day all

Had our exy's suspension upgraded with King Springs last Thursday - great feel and superb driving emoticon

Paid $331 ($158 front, $158 rear, $15 delivery) direct from Kings (trade price, I think) and 3 hours labour cost me a carton of beer emoticon

Can't wait to get onto the beach now.

 emoticon

PS
Will post pics in Member's Rides thread early next week (I don't get to see the exy during the weekdays emoticon - only get to play on the weekends)

As promised pix of the new PolyAir set-up.

I'll post pix of how they work when I load up the XT with the Camper Trailer.

Very nice Craig, they should make a great difference.
I would be interested to hear your impressions on if the suspension feels harder when pumped up with the camper on or if it just levels the ride.
I think this is the perfect towing solution for the T31.

Yeah ... Thanks Kev

I hope the wife can see / feel a difference when towing as well. She went ballistic when I told her the price!

Re: T31 Suspension Lift & Air Bag assist

Hi Craig;
I would like to know how it feels and handles also . We have a camper that has 160 kg weight on the towball [Corimal 280] and the wheels are set way back on their independant suspension. Tows well but dips down a tad. Waiting to see your pics.

Re: T31 Suspension Lift & Air Bag assist

As mentioned before had our exy lifted last week with King Springs. The job was undertaken at my mate's workshop by a couple of his mechanics and the evidence is below:

It really feels good to drive now and the view is so much better, too emoticon

Re: T31 Suspension Lift & Air Bag assist

Hi Stephen,

The lift looks great. I'm definitely jealous. It's on the list of things to do but unfortunately all available money is going into buying a house at the moment.....will have to keep on dreaming for another few months.

Couple of questions.......

Do you know what the relative merrits are of the Pedders and King Springs kits? Didn't know if there was any particular differences or whether they are both considered to be equal and in which case I suppose the decision just comes down to price.

Will you need to get your reverse sensors recallibated after the lift? Not sure if the extra height will affect them.

Cheers,

Re: T31 Suspension Lift & Air Bag assist

Hi Stephen,

I have been following this with great interest too, thanks for posting the photos. I was just wondering, with the new springs in, it appears that the rear is higher than the front. This may suit those who are towing perhaps, but for myself I was hoping to lift for clearance only reasons and would prefer if the car sat level but higher.
Do you think the bullbar is making the front sit lower, or is this the way they are designed to be?

Thanks again for the photos.

Byron

Re: T31 Suspension Lift & Air Bag assist

Byron,

Regardless of the springs you use and even with the factory ones, the front is always lower than the rear due to heavy load of the engine.
