Re: Warranty Repairs

You bet I will Kev, they have been absolutely the best right from the start before I even purchased my vehicle. I thought I would wait until the story is complete before posting.

Re: Warranty Repairs

As I hadn't heard from the local dealer for a while I dropped in yesterday. They had the parts except for the seal. It's now booked in for next Thursday 6 October. Can't wait.

I rang back 3 weeks later and was given the run around again. Reason = they don't think that they should have to "carry" the cost of replacing the arm rest and that I should go back to the dealer that I purchased the vehicle from in the first place! emoticon emoticon emoticon !

. . . . . . . I will be contacting Nissan Australia again next week to make my complaint (against my "local" dealership) known and insist that something be done.

Again, I contacted Nissan Australia who ensured me that finally something indeed would be done. They (NA) rang another "local" dealership and told them that I would be down there the following day to get my problem rectified. I went down to the Keema Nissan dealership (Mt Gravatt) on Tuesday and left with nothing resolved 8( . The blaggards still don't believe that it is their problem to rectify - and insisted that I go back to Ian Boetcher Nissan (in Ipswich) to get them to fix it (rear middle seat backrest has dent in leather - caused by seatbelt buckle). Their reason this time - post delivery inspection was done by selling dealership and they should wear the cost of replacement.

I have been reluctant to go back to Ian Boetcher, mainly because Ipswich is a long way from my side of town (and I only get one day off per fortnight emoticon ). I was speaking to my car broker (on a separate matter) and told him of the lack of service that I have received. One phone call from Dominic and finally some positive results emoticon .

I'll post outcome later when I get what I started near on 2 months ago.

Re: Warranty Repairs

Steve,

I am really surprised by the lack of service from these dealerships. Usually when Nissan Australia approves a claim and instructs a dealer to fix the problem, they should do so without any questions asked, as the cost of their labour and parts would be covered by Nissan Australia.

Re: Warranty Repairs

Warranty work for the cat converter all done, thankfully, last Thursday.
Probably drove about 35km in total, then on my way to work this morning, the orange light was on. Went to the dealer at lunchtime and left it there (cab back to work $18.60, ouch).
At least they were able to look at it today - apparently the 02 sensor wire was not secure, they refitted it. Person at the desk said it could have been bumped when it was worked on!
Comments about the dealer I will note in the appropriate section, but not tonight. Time for another letter to Nissan I think.

Re: Warranty Repairs

It's a couple weeks now since the work was done, and the poor old thing just doesn't have it any more. When accelerating she has a really dragging feeling generally and often misses.
Spoke to local dealer Kerry Auto and they reckon it probably needs a tuneup or got dirty fuel filter.
I've booked it in for a diagnosis on Tuesday, I don't imagine they'll come up with anything helpful. The only reason I'm going back there is because I reckon it relates to the cat converter. For some strange reason I thought that when they put the new cat converter in that they would make the car run properly as well.
The service manager said that I should expect the dragging feeling since the cat converter was creating a barrier where there'd been none for probably some time. I thought that she would be running freely like she'd always done.
He was just so helpful, not. And sat there fidgeting with his hands and his pen and looked very much like he wished I'd go away and leave him alone. 8(

Re: Warranty Repairs

Hi Julie,

I think this discussion needs to go into the cat. converter recall thread because it directly relates to that recall and I think in your case and since the cat. converter was changed, it might have been too late and the flakes might have damaged the cylinder walls of your engine, in which case a compression test of the engine can pin point the problem and the extent of the damage. What the Nissan guy said about the cat. converter causing a restriction is exaggerated as they need to prove that they managed to get the power and torque rating of the engine back to factory values at the very least to be able to claim a successful repair. Without a compression test they can NOT claim that.

Re: Warranty Repairs

Hi All,

I got in contact with Nissan this morning in regards to my diesel particulate filter problem (see the thread in the T31 Diesel section).

I live in the southern suburbs of Adelaide and have a Nissan Dealership about 10 kilometers away but had a bad experience with them purchasing my last X-Trail so was reluctant to call them. There are a few other Nissan Dealerships in Adelaide but the only one I have felt comfortable with are Lakeside which is about an hour away from where i live.

Feeling particularly (pardon the pun) lazy i rang the local Nissan Dealership this morning to see if i can get them to have a look at my warranty problem. I was told that if i bring the car down shortly and leave it there for the day, and perhaps tomorrow if parts are needed he will see if he can fit it in between other people who have booked their repairs.

He didn't really seem interested in helping me, more-so when i told him i had bought the car at a different dealership.

I let them know the obvious problem how i would get home and get back to pick it up if he didn't know how long it would take to fix. The guys attitude was kinda poor - he eventually offered me a possible lift home and he would see if someone could pick me up when the job i done (?). I faked a low battery and hung up.

I rang up Lakeside Nissan and spoke to the same Service guy that i always deal with. He was more concerned that i (and the car) was ok. He knew my details from my name (or found them in the computer) and said that if i pop down at 2pm it will give him time to move one of the fleet cars (which he has over the whole break anyway) and he will get his foreman booked in to check it out for me. He also said this would give him time to organize parts etc if required and i would have the car back this arvo.

I think this is an excellent example of a good dealership and a bad dealership. I'm not wasting my energy on the bad one, just stick with the good one emoticon.

Ill post the results of the fix back in the T31 Diesel section under the existing thread.

Cheers,

Dronus

Can you please copy your post into THIS thread as it is the one being monitored by Nissan Australia.
