Re: Service Costs Comparison

Hi Jalal,

With the number of stupid little things I've had to question with Col Crowford after they've had their hands on my car (incorrect tyre pressures, far too much oil etc) I doubt they can use your excuse for their high costs. Granted I'd expect their real estate to cost a bit as it's a big site and it's not exactly cheap up here but I'd struggle not to laugh in their faces if they tried to claim a higher than average number of experienced mechanics as the reason for their high charges.

Re: Service Costs Comparison

My 20,000km service cost me $290 in Brisbane through a Nissan Dealer. That is a joke considering I have a Honda that I get serviced. It cost me $145 for a 20,000km service due to fleet discount. The public just get ripped off

Shane

Re: Service Costs Comparison

Hi All,

Had my T30 50k service done on Tuesday at Nissan Rockdale. Great service as usual

$231.

Needed new pad front and back but asked them not to do it. No they had no problem with that and the guy was even nice enough to send me to a place in Marrickville where I was able to get Bendix pads for $55 rear and $60 front

Would recommend them to anyone

Re: Service Costs Comparison

Just had a 105,000km service today at Kerry Automotive in Darwin. At $121 and hour it cost $294.65.

Carried out service as per manufacturer specs
Replaced engine oil
Checked drive belts
Checked cooling system
Checked all fuel lines & hoses
Adjust tyre pressures to mfrs specs
Checked steering and suspension
Checked exhaust & gas sensors
Lubricated locks, hinges and hood latch
Checked seat belts, buckles retractors, anchors and adjuster
Checked all fluid levels
Checked battery terminal condition & electrolyte
Carried out road-test and checked all systems

Filter Assy oil $22.59
Washer Union B $4.41
Optikleen $2.25
Engine oil 10W/30 $45.05
Workshop consumables $19.95
Hazardous disposal/storage $21.70

Subtotal $258.95

Plus

Liquid top up $3.95
Road test $4.95
Rounding $0.01

Total Labour $143.00
Total parts $29.25
Total POL $86.70
Total Misc $8.91
Total tax $26.79

Total $294.65

They didn't call me back as requested with a price on front and rear wipers fitted, and when I rang and they couldn't give me an answer without passing me around the departments, I told them not to bother.

They also reset both my trip meters, which they have done before, which is annoying.

Dealing with these people I always end up seeing black (not just red) and can almost feel steam coming out my ears.

Going by my speedo it would have been about 1.5km - if that!

Re: Service Costs Comparison

chased up quotes for the 80 k service yesterday . Dealer quote $620.. I had already done some of the service before the trip to Mt Isa like the radiator ,drain, clean and fill . New plugs and new air filter . Price then dropped to $350 to $400.
Got a quote from my usual mechanic/service centre only to find his price was comparable so he's now going to reassess and see what he can do .

Re: Service Costs Comparison

I just had my 130,000 service done at Robinson Nissan (Rockdale) - cost just a smidge over $300 all up, including a wheel alignment, handbrake correction, and all the other standard odds'n'bodds that are done as part of the service. Service was great! The service component without the extras was around $230 - highly recommend emoticon
