T31 servicing - every 3mths?
Can anyone enlighten me on the servicing required for the T31? My service manual seems to say it needs servicing every 3 months or 5,000kms. I'm hoping this isn't the case as it would be a pain in the butt...
Thanks

Re: T31 servicing - every 3mths?
Hey Daniel...
Check out this thread. You'll see Jalal's post regarding the recommended servicing for the T30. I doubt it would be any different for the T31.
If in doubt, ask the dealer and see what they say.

Re: T31 servicing - every 3mths?
Thanks Naff, I read that thread but my service log seems to indicate a difference for the T31. In the booklet (you know, the one you get stamped after each service) the services appear to be spaced every 3mths or 5000kms.
My local Nissan dealership is well known for being very dodgy, so if I ask I'm sure they'll give me the answer that suits them - a service every 3 months.

Re: T31 servicing - every 3mths?
Daniel,
You're entitled to receive a copy of the service schedule for the T31 just like the one I have uploaded for the T30.
Ask your dealer for one and they must give you a copy. Failing that, my service is due soon and I will pick one up when am there next.
It's a bit strange to have the T31 serviced every 3 months, unless you're looking at the "severe use" servicing section.

Re: T31 servicing - every 3mths?
I just checked the service schedule for the T31 on Nissan NZ website and it is identical to the T30 in every aspect. They didn't even bother to change the photo of the exy in the service schedule to the T31

Nope, there is a 'normal' and a 'Severe' column for each service page ie. for each 5000kms or 3 months.
There's bugger all to do for each second service under 'normal' driving conditions, only 'Clean air filter', but am I right in saying that if I don't pay a service centre to do this and get a stamp, my warranty is affected? Otherwise I'm sure I can clean it (or K&N it!) myself...
It looks like I might qualify for 'severe' anyway, Darwin could count as any number of these depending on season:
-Driving in dusty conditions
-Driving in extremely adverse weather conditions or in areas where ambient temps are either extremely low or high
-Driving in high humidity or mountanous areas
-Driving on rough and/or muddy roads or in the desert
-Frequent driving in water
Pretty much sums up this place to a tee, actually...

Re: T31 servicing - every 3mths?
Yes Daniel, if the service book says you have to take it there every 3 months for servicing, then that is what you gonna have to do to maintain the Nissan warranty.
Since you qualify for the "severe use" driving conditions based on what you have described, you might as well have it serviced every 3 months/5K.
You guys in NT may be getting a "special" service schedule due to these conditions. hahahaha

Re: T31 servicing - every 3mths?
Daniel,
Its exactly the same as the T30 service schedule and cleaning the filter does not mean you need to take it there every 5000Kms. ALL of my 5000km service interval pages are blank and I still maintained the Nissan warranty while I had it. In fact Nissan wouldn't even send you a reminder for a service unless you skip the 10,000kms service. As I started previously, it only applies to "severe" use conditions and diesel engines and it's optional. The Nissan warranty will be maintained if you only do the 10,000kms service intervals (if that's what you wanna do)
