Re: T31 servicing - every 3mths?
Excellent news, thanks Jalal.
I intend to change the oil and clean the air filter myself due to the harsh conditions up here, but not be stiffed for it by the local dealership. Now I'll take it every 10,000kms.
Thanks for clearing that up.

Re: T31 servicing - every 3mths?
6 or 12 months? (Normal not Severe usage)
Hi. Can anyone confirm the service intervals for the T31 please? Not sure why but I seem to have it in my head that it is 10,000KM or 12 months but I have since read it's 10k or 6 months. I don't do that much in the way of KM's so servicing my X-Trail every 6mths seems a bit excessive to me. This is a modern car and it would seem to me that servicing it when it may have only covered 2-3K is a bit of overkill. Consider this.....same car in the UK has a service interval of 9,000 miles (13,030 km) or 1 year!
Anyway, am I running the risk of invalidating my warranty if I don't have it serviced every 6 months? Your thoughts are appreciated (as are yours Tony....thanks)
Cheers,
Tim

The dealer normally say 10000kms or 6 months, whichever comes first.
Personally I service my exy by the kms travelled, I mean the car can sit in the garage for 6 months, does that mean that you have to change new oil?
The warranty will be fine doing the kms service, as long as you get the service done.
Hope this helps you.

Re: T31 servicing - every 3mths?
I have now done approx 6500 kms. After the 1000km service was done, the Nissan workshop attached the "next service" sticker on the top righthand corner of the windscreen.
According to them, I need to have my next service at 10,000kms or by 12/08 (whichever comes first) - lending support to the 10,000km / 6 month theory.

Re: T31 servicing - every 3mths?
When I picked up my new T31 I asked the dealer and service manager about the 5000 km service and they both said it was an "optional service" meaning you don't have to do it to maintain your warranty. 10000 km / 6 month is the service interval. Hope this helps.

Re: T31 servicing - every 3mths?
After looking at the service book, it seems it's just a quick check-up and oil change so I'll just be changing the oil and filter myself at every 5000kms inbetween the 10000km services.
Will that have any effect on warranty?

Not one iota of a difference to your warranty. Keep to specs and all is good

Re: T31 servicing - every 3mths?
I was just looking at my mates new Suzuki and it states 15,000ks or every 12months.I just got a reminder that my last service was 6months ago and i looked and had only done 6500ks since last time.My vechicle is now our of warranty so i really could not care at all.I think that Nissan should up there warranty like most other makes,as i think this 6month time side of the warranty is a con by them.I use the same oil as my mates Suzuki semi-synthetic and his can go 15000ks and mine only 10000ks on the same oil.I really think Nissan are putting one over on us and need to review there service provisions.cheers

Re: T31 servicing - every 3mths?
i FIND IT AMAZING THAT THE 6MONTH TIME PART OF THE CHANGE PERIOD HAS NOT BEEN CHALLENGED BY US AT LEAST,as it is a con and nothing but ,that chucking good oil out that has nothing wrong with it in a world of diminshing supplies is simply stupid.I will say it again with modern oils and filters nissan should at least have 15000ks service and a 12month time frame on this, like most other car companies. We are being dudded on our service costs. But nobody seems interested at all on this site about this.cheers
