posticon The First South Australian Meet & Greet

This very afternoon on a cool 35C Adelaide day we had a meet and greet, which saw a total of seven Xtrails for our photo. Six vehicles were owned by members, but an XTrail driver who was passing became curious about our spectacular line-up and we invited him and his passenger to join us in our discussions and photo opportunity.
We met at the location as posted on the forum (shopping centre car park), under the partial shade of a big gum tree at the appointed time.
Thirteen enthusiasts of varying ages(and one dog) discussed the various differences between our vehicles from model to model, fuel source (gas, petrol, diesel), towbars & towing, bonnet struts, spare tyres & tyre types, along with other variations such as wheels, headlamp protection, kangaroo protection, warranty and service of our cars, and a variety of modifications across the range. Some of us got to see, first hand, items obtained by Group Buys from our forum, and there will be heated negotiations over the coming days and weeks regarding the funding of what have now become essential additional purchases from the on line shop.
Trips and holidays were discussed, and ideas swapped. Of course, as usual for Australia, there was the division between males and females to discuss the things women like about our X Trails and the modifications the men want to copy – while making sure that the dog was cool enough and the children were adequately occupied to ward off boredom on the last day of school holidays.
It was a most interesting hour and a bit and now we can put faces to names. A great time was had by all concerned, and we hope to have more members along next time.

Re: The First South Australian Meet & Greet

Thanks Greg and Anita for organising the meetup. It was great to meet some fellow members, and see some of the mods and accessories that we read about on the forum.

And the more I see and read of the T31 diesel, the more I like them. Especially when I noticed that the price of diesel was 8 cents cheaper than ULP at the local servo tonight.

6 members was a reasonable turnout considering that it was a long weekend, and it was stinking hot.

We're not mad keen campers, but day trips appeal (once the weather cools down a bit). Has anyone done the Arden Hills 4WD drive up in the Flinders? Link:

I was wondering if it's suitable for X-Trails. They indicate that it requires low range for some tracks. I have been to Mt Arden a few times for work over the years, and its spectacular. Looking at the area on Google Earth, there looks to be lots of tracks and interesting features through there.
