Re: Central Australia: Alex's excellent adventure

No, the tyres are the ATRs.

Interestingly, when I got a flat on the rear early in the trip, I changed both rear tyres because the two spares were Le Mans 501 (which have a different diameter and you don't want different diameters on each side of an axle). The Cooper that went flat had only been on less than 1000km of dirt at that stage but showed nearly as bad wear as the photo above.

These Le Mans were on the car for well over 1000km of dirt (before I got a replacement Cooper and put Coopers back onto both sides at the rear) and they showed absolutely no chipping or tearing at all.

very interesting... nice to see other parts of the world in the comfort of home...
makes me want to think about doing a road trip myself and share.... guess that will have to wait until next summer... not much to do during the winter....

Re: Central Australia: Alex's excellent adventure

well as soon as the snow comes... being in the "banana belt" of Ontario.... we don't see the snow until maybe Janurary... it just gets cold.... I will have to go up to my parents place, about 2 hours away for snow.... they will be getting that white stuff in late November.

The cold just suits me... gets a little white for Xmas and then go away.... emoticon
you know the fat guy in the red suit needs snow... emoticon

PS... here is some snow fer ya Jalal ... Jan 2009
