Lazy Sunday afternoon drive

This won't be a long report but was a great afternoon drive with some great people.
We took in some pleasant scenery, good food, good wine, fantastic arvo and generally had a great time.

We met at 11am and was introduced to Stephen's Mum and Dad and waited while Stephen filled up and then it was a relaxing drive out through Beenleigh, Tamborine and Canungra and then onto O'Rielly's Vineyard where we were promptly told they were booked out and could not get into the restaurant.

Well I was very dissapointed as I had rang earlier in the week and was told we did not need to book. Nevermind, we were offered a solution that I think in the end that was just perfect. We got 3 lunch platters for 2 and had some wine tasting while they were made up.

We had lunch down by the river under the shade of a coolibah tree. ...only kidding, it wasn't a coolibah tree, at least I don't think it was but it was a tree. What a fantastic lunch it turned out to be, the platter was sensational and just enough for two, a nice bottle of vino that we got from the vineyard and couple of hours of eating, drinking and great conversation.

After we had polished off the platters and took our leave of the winery, we parted company with Stephen's Mum and Dad who went through to Worongary and we made our way up the goat track to Clancy's at Mt Tamborine for an afternoon coffee and drink, listen to the owner warbling away singing Irish sings until it was time to go.

Thanks Stephen and Rose, was great to meet your Mum and Dad and listen to some good lively stories. Have to do it again soon.

Re: Lazy Sunday afternoon drive

Hey Jamie,

You all look like you had fun.

Sorry I could not be there for it as it was a very pleasant day outside.

If you are up for a bit of fun in the future ,we did the track (Black hut rd) to Charlie moorland camp ground last week and boy that was fun.

Regards Scot
