Re: OBDII connector
Thanks Lance,
This one is different and it is an ECU reader/scanner.
I will move this post to the ECU Readers instead and there are much cheaper ones than this out there.

Re: OBDII connector
Jalal,
Yes I do but not to the same ability as the scan gauge mine only does the real time fuel usage as a trip computer in a crappydore along with distance to empty, rpm, preset service intervals and the average fuel of the trip it doesn't tell you fault codes or temp and other sensor readings. plus I had to put a prox switch on the ABS sensors and then calibrate the device and each time I disconnect the battery I have to calibrate again.

Re: OBDII connector
Update: Linear-Logic in the US wouldn't ship the Scangauge II to Singapore cos there's already a reseller here. This, I just found out after a two week silence with all my emails going unanswered.
I hope their product is more reliable than their sales support.
It's going to cost me 262AU$ if I buy it locally, versus 232AU$ if I bought if off ebay, so someone in my neck of the woods is making a huge margin.
I'll get it eventually. This is a useful tool to have because of the real-time information on fuel consumption among other things.

Re: OBDII connector
Hi Eddie,
If the ebay seller states "ship worldwide" then they should ship to you regardless if there is a reseller in your country or not.

Re: OBDII connector
Eddie,
I don't think 30 bucks is a "huge" margin and it is a small price difference to pay to buy it locally where you can have the warranty and support available to you, rather than chase someone in the US.

Re: OBDII connector
Hi Kev,
Linear-Logic are the manufacturers I believe. They stated on their site they would ship to Singapore so I went ahead and bought it off them. Obviously their site info is outdated.
There are several ebayers selling the same thing and with shipping I'd still save quite a bit over one that's bought locally.
Although there is always the warranty issue (which is why I'll probably end up getting one from the local chappy.)
At least it's good to know they look after their business partners, lol.

Re: OBDII connector
Hi Jalal,
Point taken, thanks:-)
Actually I did not know there was a local reseller here until the manufacturer told me so.

Re: OBDII connector
I'm off to Sydney tomorrow for work and they are curious as to why I'm not taking one of our Workshop vehicles and why I'm taking my own, the reason to check out the Scangauge two. I will check every aspect of the device and report back tomorrow night all going well. He is letting me plug the device in and and go for a drive he will be able tell me if all areas of the device work in our Exy
this will be good for him as a seller because he will know one way or another that the Scangauge works.

Re: OBDII connector
Not Good
I saw David today from Wooders Garage and we tried the scangageII in the OBDII slot with no luck it didnt recognize the gauge at all. He went on to tell me that there are vehicles out like the X-trail for instance the Prado that this device didnt work in but a minor face lift of the vehicle by the manufacturer an now it does work. This got me thinking that the dual cat Exy old and new T30 and T31 might work with this gauge.
All is not lost as David is expecting the new model any day actualy it should have been there today so I could try the new gauge as this new device can communicate with more vehicles. He is going to test this new device on a 2004 Exy in the coming weeks and get back to me.
Fingers crossed
