Re: OBDII connector

Plugged my SG2 in that I had in the MPS previously tonight, seems to be working, will road test it tomorrow on the way to work.

It is running Ver 3 firmware (was bought about Sep 06) from US.

I know that it won't play with my older 98 GU Patrol -- apparently also comes back to US market requiring open compatibility and if not sold to that, can be funnier to get a generic reader to work.

And the MAP feature I think is related to turbos where there is something to cause positive pressure (aka turbo boost) - there may well not be pressure sensors on a NA motor?

Used to function quite nicely as a boost guage on the 3MPS showing boost spikes up to about 18psi, and instantaneous fuel usage (not an average) of about 130L/100km on WOT and full boost.....

Re: OBDII connector

Just to update... my SG2 works well in my 2009 Xtrail TL......

The boost readings (MAP) - Manifold absolute pressure - work too - and are surprising high.

Once I do the aftermaket wire and fully hide the wiring in the dash etc, and install the main panel permanently in the centre console upper opening I will post some pics.....

This is an older SG2, firmware 3.00 from memory bought about 3 years ago for my 3MPS.

Dave - if you want a test run, get in touch, seeing as I am in Ulvie...... emoticon

Re: OBDII connector

Got a chance to get a cheap ELMscan 5 USB unit like the one Jalal pointed out previously here.
When it arrives I'll test it out and post up my results.

i have elm327 clone USB OBD interface. with correct softwares, such as PCMSCAN or TouchScan, you can collect several statistics and info about Xtrail. I bought it over ebay.
