I know this is a little late for a reply to this topic, but one of the guys in my street has a smashed x-trail which he is fixing for a friend (I asked if it was for sale and he said no !)
Anyways, the dash mat was perfectly made to suit series 1 xtrail, with the passenger side airbag being completely uncovered. The mat wrapped around the top edge and then down the side. The Drivers side compartment is covered, but it is stitched out in a way that it is a flap that just sits on top of the compartment and comes up and down with no problem. It looks great. Next time he is home i will try to get some pics.
