I need however a volunteer from Penrith area in Sydney to meet-up with the manufacturer am liaising with, so they can take a look at the bonnet and the fixing points.
Please let me know if you're interested, so I can put you in touch with the company.
Hi Guys,
Am still waiting to hear from any members in the Penrith area that might be interested to give us a hand with this mod. You don't have to have it done, they will just use your xtrail to do the measurements without taking anything off.
Please let me know.

Jalal,
Where is this new 'improved' mod up to. I like and and want in.
Hehehe, I knew you gonna revive his thread after seeing the bonnet struts in action LOL
Well, blame Noel for not making progress, he has just given up on the whole idea and I was trying hard to put him in contact with a local bonnet strut manufacturer in Cairns who just wanted to have a look at Noel's bonnet. hahahaha
Also, I received no response to my earlier post seeking members from Penrith to progress the idea, so that gave me an indication that no one was interested in it anymore.
(p.s. Noel I was kidding LOL)
I thought it's a good day to stir-up Noel as it's his........
BIRTHDAY
Happy Birthday mate!

Re: X-Trail Bonnet Strut **world's first**
Hi Guys,
Just in case you thought I had given up on this idea and stopped looking for the bonnet struts for the rest of you, think again
I finally found a professional and xtrail specific bonnet strut kit that is made of stainless steel and requires no drilling whatsoever. Bolt on and away you go. It is an overseas/imported kit and I am hopeful it'll be cheaper and much better than the one which "was" available through eBay.
In the coming days I will post photos of this kit fitted to my exy and will advise pricing, so we can re-start this group-order for those that are still interested
Stay tuned!

Re: X-Trail Bonnet Strut **GROUP-BUY**
OK Guys,
The new bonnet strut kit has just been fitted to my exy and I must say am very impressed with the quality of it and its operation.
It took 10 minutes flat to have the kit installed, no drilling required and only used a ratchet for the job.
Here are some pics of the way the kit is fitted and how it looks.
The bonnet strut kit (Stainless Steel):
I have checked the operation (closing and opening) of the struts and am completely satisfied with this kit's quality. It just folds down neatly into place without any impact or pressure to any part of the car.
To take advantage of the group-buy, you need to be a registered member of the forum.
Register your interest in this thread or email the On Line X-Trail Shop on: (they can be ordered from HERE)
This group-buy offer is valid for 3 weeks starting from today (ending on 12/8/06)
Lets start modding!
