Re: bash plate

Excellent find, Pete!!!

My bet is that Jalal has already contacted them and is awaiting a reply emoticon

I did as well, just in case I might've beat him to it emoticon

If I end up getting it, it'll save me having to try and make one out of that scrap 2m long x 50cm wide x 3mm thick aluminium sheet I've got in the garage.

I didn't Rich emoticon

I thought postage will be a killer all the way from Israel for this item, but it's good to see excellent stuff like that being made for the exy, which means it's gonna be hitting the market closer to us soon.

Thank you for your e-mail and your interest in our products.

The Nissan X-Trail front skid plate diesel manual shift is our p/n
565055.

This skid plate is made of aluminum.
The list price is $262.68
Our payment terms are CAD - cash in advance.
Delivery terms - Ex Works Tel Adashim Israel - We do not deal with the
shipment of the goods. Let us know with who and how you want this sent
and we will have the product ready for you to be sent out.

and:

This front skid plate fits the diesel Manual shift as I told you. We
only have the diesel model here in Israel so therefore we don't know if
it will fit your QR25DE engine as we haven't tried to fit it on any
other engine.
The price is in US dollars.

Re: bash plate

Rich,

It could fit the Manual transmission exy with a QR25DE engine (am not sure) but it wont cover the Automatic transmission sump at the bottom.

I found this out when Shane and I fitted his bash plate to my exy and the transmission sump was not covered (his was Manual)

You could search the net for the diesel undercarriage pics to compare or send them yours.

Re: bash plate

From your experimenting Jalal, it seems like you've pretty much nailed it on the head as far as that bash-plate being incompatible with an automatic transmission.

If I'm going to spend that sort of money, the last thing I want to do is add my own personal touches to it with a jigsaw and hammer emoticon

Re: bash plate

On the topic of front bash plates, has anyone custom made one for the manual model (series 1), whether aluminium or cheq/plate.

I am interested in getting one made up, but the local fabrication shop wants some pictures to run off.

Pictures and/or measurements would be appreciated.

Re: bash plate

Brett,

This bash plate was fitted to Shane's exy (series II manual) and since he sold his, I bought from him and I now have it on mine (series I auto)

It's excellent and has helped me a lot during the recent off-road trip. Weight is about 15KG, but it did not affect fuel consumption at all.

Re: bash plate

(When I ever get around to it...) I will be making up a bash-plate as well.

If I don't borrow Jalal's to use as a template, the next best thing I reckon would be to use the (useless) plastic trims that come standard (if they're still there!), or use a large piece of cardboard...

Hey Rich, You could borrow it at any time, if you're prepared to take it off and put it back for me emoticon

It was tough job putting it on for me and Shane.

Don't fancy your chances with cardboard off-road LOL
