Cargo Barrier for T31: Milford or Nissan
Hi,
Having picked our T31 6 days ago we are planning a road trip after the 1K service. Before we go we want a cargo barrier fitted. The question is which one - Milford or Nissan?
I think the Nissan barrier is made by Milford?
Both are dual position and suitable for the side air bags.
I was quoted $807 (fitted) by ARB for the Milford one - I think the Nissan barrier is around that same price.
Does anyone have comments about which one is better, or if they are actually the same product?
Cheers
David

For the T30 cargro barriers, they were exactly the same product and even the Nissan one had the Milford badge on it.

Re: Cargo Barrier for T31: Milford or Nissan
My cargo barrier identification plate has this interesting warning.
“The cargo barrier may deform and significantly intrude into the occupants space in an accident.”
Does it mean a rear end collision can force the upper support bar to push the whole barrier into the occupant space? I wonder how safe is this barrier?

Yes it can happen, but at the same time, the cargo barrier can save lives in case of a roll-over where it will support the roof of the car from collapsing and squashing passengers inside.

Re: Cargo Barrier for T31: Milford or Nissan
I had a Milford (Nissan) cargo barrier fitted to my T30 Ti-L for $550 from nissan. I just had a look on the quote for fitting one to my T31 TL (sunroof) and its closer to $520 (fitted before delivery).
They are made here in Adelaide which may explain why they could be cheaper (?). I rang another large roof rack place here in Adelaide and they quoted $550 plus fitting which would be a couple of hundred so i had it done at Nissan.
I didnt go for the cargo barrier in the T31 as my co-pilot is uberly organised and has plastic tubs that everything goes into, and can be strapped down to the tiedown points. The cargo barrier was a good idea but was bulky as it went all the way to the floor behind the back seats.

Re: Cargo Barrier for T31: Milford or Nissan
Got a Genuine Nissan Cargo Barrier fitted to my new toy. Dealer threw it in as part of the deal. Very happy with the look and fit of it. It allows for the differing angles of the T31 rear seats can adjust to.

Re: Cargo Barrier for T31: Milford or Nissan
Hi Guys,
See pic of Genuine Nissan - Manufactured by Milford!! Cargo Barrier. As can be seen from the pic, does the job well and looks good. Had two Labs in the back on Saturday and they were unable to break through!! Only problem identified was where the barrier sits away from the rear Windows, the dogs can get their heads and neck through to the back seat...
All in all, am really happy with it.
Cheers,
Andy
