just for sanity sake... how long doe it take for the mirror to turn on... I range from 15 sec to 60 sec... I thought it was based on movement or vibration

If by "turn on" you mean when the dimming is activated, then I noticed it depends on where exactly the car following is located and how far it is behind you. Sometimes the dimming doesn't activate if the car behind you is too far or too close parked behind you at the lights.

nope... not what I meant... the mirror has a startup.... it flashes 3 times to tell you that the mirror is active.... it takes anywhere between 15 - 60 sec... I thought I read it starts when the senses motion

Oh, that's what it is LOL 
I kept wondering why the hell it flashed when I started reversing from my driveway
In the Corolla in flashes immediately after I reverse, in the xtrail it's delayed a bit until I hit the road, so am not sure why the start-up time is different between the 2 cars.

geesh... glad I ask these question...
I am wondering is the Corolla mirror lower than the Xey... I am guessing that the mirror does not vibrate as much due to being mounted on the roof????

Possibly, as the Corolla mirror is mounted to the windscreen unlike the xtrail one.

Well done, Jalal, it is good that the southern hemisphere has access to this technology. Will save in transportation cost... plus you will be a more reliable source of investigating issues with the mirror, if even it arise.
