In the process of arranging shipment as we speak, the ship will leave overseas port end of October and the ship should be here in Sydney sometime by end of November (or a bit earlier)

If at all some rock hits the plate, it could do more damage to the diff by ripping the cast sections it is bolted too right off.

Re: T31 Rear Bumper and Diff Bash Plates That's why they have spacers on the mounting bolts to lessen the force of the impact. Considering the diff sits higher than anything else under the car, the chances of hitting the diff protection plate are pretty slim, as you would catch that rock with the front bash plate....or the rear one if you're reversing
I consider the rear diff bash plate an added insurance.

If I follow your theory and apply it to the front T30 and T31 bash plates which uses front mounting points under the factory bumper (and side plastic plates in the T30), we would have seen ripped front bumpers all over the place by now.

Re: T31 Rear Bumper and Diff Bash Plates I am sure the T30 front bash plate at the front screws into a front body member where the front bumper is fixed and the back fixes onto the main underbody centre support member.
The fixings to the plastic panels are only to support the sides from flapping rather than for any strength.
