Re: How to remove unwanted scratches ???
Thanks, I’ll have look out for this product.
Yes, I get a chance to surf the net sometimes during the day, just testing you to see if you’d notice.
In the morning is generally before I leave for work, although there are some occasions when I’m in the office, I get to surf the net during smoko and lunch.
Cheers

Re: How to remove unwanted scratches ???
Ok, got some Meguiar's Scratch-X & Turtle Wax, Colour Cure Car Polish at 25% sale at K-Mart over the weekend. How coincidental?
The small/light scratches worked great with the Scratch – X.
However the larger and deeper ones didn’t work at all with these products.
They do look better though. I guess I will to just have to ignore them, unless I get them re-sprayed.
Maybe I should get some genuine Nissan touch up paint?
Cheers

My advice, just ignore them until it's time to buff the car and they could vanish when the car is buffed without any need for re-spraying.
And yes, get the touch-up paint from nissan, works well with stone chips

Re: How to remove unwanted scratches ???
I did a bit of polishing with Maguiar's Scratch X this morning to remove some pretty bad scratches I got at Newnes after pulling up next to some bushes.
Bassically I followed the instructions on the tube but appllied and removed the scratch x 4 times.
Also when applying the stuff I had to use a fair amount of elbow grease as the scratches where pretty bad.
I have done a before and after photo below and I am pretty impressed. I tried to get the photos from the same angle and used a flash both times so the scratches would be clear.
Alot of work but well worth it

Re: How to remove unwanted scratches ???
WOW mate, those were some nasty scratches for sure! How did you manage to get them at Newnes?? I haven't got a single scratch on mine from that trip and I did negotiate some rough bushes and was careful around them
I'm glad they came out with scratch X and I see you managed to finish an entire pizza doing it LOL

Re: How to remove unwanted scratches ???
Hi Jalal,
Yes they were nasty alright, but just in the clearcoat so the scratch x is getting them out.
They are pretty deep in the clear coat though so it is damn hard yakka.
I got them when we were heading back from the forbidden city (if thats the right name) when we stopped for Brett to go through that first big bog hole.
I pulled over to the right into some bushes, (not paying attention)
But like I say the scratch x is doing the trick, I a very impressed.
I am going to do some more photos later, but on a tripod so I can get exactly the same shot do show how well it works.
but know i gotta digest that pizza LOL

Re: How to remove unwanted scratches ???
Hi people,
Just wanted to let people know that I used the Maguires scratch x this morning on some nasty scratches from the lantana bushes we went thru last week end.
The only other difference, I used Maguires gold class as a finish off and I tell you it took out the real ugly ones as well.
You do have to use a bit of elbow grease.
As for the paint protection I thought that was a waste of my money as the paint work was looking very dull already after 2 months.
I was using the ming car wash they gave me and that was rubbish.
I use a natural, environmentally-friendly car wash product on my paint work and is safe on all duco surfaces.
It protects the paint for me as well in between waxing.

Re: How to remove unwanted scratches ???
Hi There Exy Drivers,
The cheapest and for good results with small scratches, nothing better than tooth paste. Works well on perspex weather shields and caravan windows also. In fact any clear plastic, polybycarbonate with scratches can be brought back - only a little elbow grease needed.
Cheers
