Re: Car polish
Polish whats that , the xtrail is a 4WD, it dont need polish LOL
The only time I use polish is when I'm selling my cars.
But I have been told the Meguiar's And Mother's range of products are the best to use.
Web Sites Mothers & Meguiar's

Re: Car polish
Thanks for the info BillieWally,
I'll try mequires to match shampoo!!
Go easy on those of us who like to have our exys look as good as they travel!!!!
Don't u miss the sense of achievement in seeing your reflection in the duco?
Thanks again.

Re: Car polish
I have tried all sorts of polish including all the expensive ones, Meguiar's and all.
But I have never come across anything better than the polish BMW dealerships sell. It's only about $20-$25 but it's fantastic and brilliant for getting fine scratches out with as well.
Just my 2 cents.

Re: Car polish
Sorry if I offend there, but up here in Gove, you can wash the car in the morning, and by the arvo it needs to be washed again

Re: Car polish
Note you should NEVER use normal polish on the front fenders, the bumpers or any other plastic bodywork. Use a proper plastic polish. McGuires have one, although I use a brand from Japan that I got from JustJap. Normal polish is way too abrasive. Also, Canouba Wax and Polish are 2 different items. Most polishes are abrasive to some extent where as wax is not.
My personal washing program takes two paths. Either I wash with McGuires shampoo, and then use a wax, or I use McGuires Quik Detail. My brother-law who used to be in the crash repair business put me onto this brilliant stuff. If you ever clay your car, then this is the stuff it comes with. SupaCheap sell it for about $12.

Re: Car polish
Hi Guys,
I always use warm water to wash my car with meguiare’s soft wash. A trick I got shown by a girl when I got my first car back in the eighties is once you have washed your car and are about to chamois, you get the hose with running water no nozzle on it and start at the top of the car and work your way down by letting the water run as if you were wetting every part of the car the water syphons off the car and you are left with less water on the car to chamois
To polish/wax your car I use Eagle One Wet polish & wax I changed from meguiars to Eagle One and have not looked back. I also use 3M perfect it rubbing compound for any removal of marks and scratches but the be all and end all of any product is the perfect it 111 (three) cleaners clay which I use once a year

Sorry but I disagree AKAK9 all the polish or wax combo's are designed to be used on clear coat finishes these day's and the so called plastic gaurds are painted, you are treating the paint not the plastic.

Re: Car polish
The fenders are not painted, they are colour formed. If you scratch one you will see it doesn't flake, it tears.
If you want swirl marks, then it's your choice, use a polish.
