Re: UHF CB radios
For my recent additions, I used a boot lid mount, with an elevated feed.
I mounted it to the bonnet and fitted it with a 9db fibre glass stick.
It just clips on the edge and secures with two grub screws.
I'll post a couple of pics later on.

Re: UHF CB radios
This is the boot mount (fixed to the bonnet)
(edit: due to my lack of facilities to resize images on my work pc - I have just left the image links here)

I have some other pics of the installation process for interested parties.
See below, fitted with a 6db fibreglass whip. Tends to shake a little on idle though.

Re: UHF CB radios
Jalal
Have you recently installed an ariel mount on your nudge bar, I noticed it in the 'car care' section looking at your sparkling engine bay.
I hadn't noticed it on the Yengo trip.

Re: UHF CB radios
Had it for ages, it was there at the Yengo trip as well, but I forgot to attach the antenna

Re: UHF CB radios
Hi folks,
Just wondering if anyone has thought about or installed a CB in the small slot in the upper glove box on the passenger side of a T30 II? Thought it might be a nice tidy spot to have it out of the way. Probably need to get one of the 'compact models'
Any suggestions. I don't really want to have it in one of the DIN spots.
Photo is of the spot I am talking about.
Admin Edit: Photo code fixed.

Re: UHF CB radios
I'm looking at getting an Icom IC-440.
Has the controls all in the mic, so you can hide the unit itself under the dash or seat.
The RFI CD-900 aerial has a great rep as well, would probably get 2, and replace the borked aerial on the Patrol as well.
There is an online seller I'd recommend, but I think its against forum policy to do so.
