The prices on those web-sites seem a little pricy, but then again they look like very good quality.

I wasn't happy with the standard horn and decided to get a set of air horns installed about 3-4 months ago which are doing just fine, actually they are a bit too loud, and have almost gotton myself into trouble once already.

I opted to purchase a cheaper set from Autobarn, (3 horn model) for about $50. These are plastic and also Italian made. I had a set of these in my old camry for about 8 years before I bought the exy and were still working when I got rid of the vehicle.

Auto electrician cost was around $80.

But Jalal mine are not chrome, but red and black. emoticon

Hey Noel, with a horn this loud, I don't think the chrome factor would really matter LOL

I loved the video of the cop that pulled them over about the window tining. hehehe

If I do decide to install one of these, it'll only be for fun (not road use) maybe to give the noisy campers a good scare at night. hahaha

One thing worth mentioning.

Make sure your original electic horn is still able to be hooked up, come rego time.

A mate who is in the business told me that the new 4wd issues are air horns and no rear mud flaps. I can see why there is a crack down on these issues.....NOT.

I have a set of the 'SuperCheap' 3x red air horns on my other fourbie and they are great. Just make sure you don't point them straight ahead, as the air pushing inside the horn, will lessen the noise coming out.

They are on my 'to do' list with the exee. Just got to figure out where to put them.

And Jalal, you can always pick up a can of chrome spray paint at the same time to keep your 'bling bling' universally chrome. LOL

Well in fact the only way they can be legal is to have them hooked up to a switch in the cab that will allow you to choose either standard horns or air horns.

Your also mean't to only use them after you use the standard horns first. If the person your tooting at doesn't respond to the standard horns, then you can use the air horns.

Thanks Brett.

Air-horn install is similar to when you add driving lights. They both need to have a stand-alone on/off switch and both need to have the capability to revert to standard equipment, in this case the factory horn.

Noel can show you his set-up and where he has his horn fitted.

Re: Is everyone happy with their "exy" horn?

Hi Brett,

Here is my Air Horn setup. I did the fitment myself although had a pro auto electrician do the wiring.

The placement of the horns is not the ideal location in front of the radiator, however was the easiest spot for them. They are just screwed onto a strip of aluminum and fitted to existing holes on the body (which are already threaded).

I noticed a new 15A fuse wired to the alternator after the install. Coincidentally the 15A fuse blew 4 times in the first week and has been fine ever since.

The three-way switch you can see in the last pic is the one on the far left.

Hope this helps some.

Greetings from Malaysia!
Horns are used as often as Signal lamps here, I have also replaced by X horn to a Air Horn, this Horn has the compressor attached to the horn itself, with regular air horns you get the pipes and all which reduces the air pressure.
It sounds great and it’s loud. Costs only AU$25
I'm not sure if i can give the makers name on this thread...
