Re: Head lights equal power of 2 candles

Will duck out to the garage and have a looksee in the manual...

It would most definitely be mentioned in the 80MB PDF files that were recently uploaded (link posted to) the yahoogroup (I haven't downloaded them yet) if you already have that (or someone else beats me to it while I go look in the manual...

Hi Jalal,

Just returned from my shed with the bulbs original box. They are definately H4...Suggestion: if your putting the bluevision bulbs in you may consider also changing the lower driving light globes to bluevision also for the over all effect.

Cheers

Spoon

Thanks spoonbenda,

Do you mean the changing the bumper fog light bubls as well for the effect? Not sure how can I get to them, will need to have a look, are they also H4's?

Re: Head lights equal power of 2 candles

I just got a reply back from my mate that bought my pulsar...

Here's what he told me about the H4 globes I installed in it:

H4, 5200K H.I.D, Euro Dezigns, Xenon-Krypton - www.EuroDezigns.com

Checking their site now as I type this...

I should also mention that alot of guys got stung by the group buy in the pulsar club... Apparently alot of them blew soon after installation, or didn't work straight out of the box... I hear they don't like being posted...

Also there were reports of some lamp-holders MELTING after these globes had been installed!

Re: Head lights equal power of 2 candles

Thanks Richi,

I think I'll stick to the Philips BlueVision, as I've read some excellent reports about them on other forums on the web and they're of the same wattage as the genuine H4 we have on our xtrails (but much brighter due to the bright white light) so I wont risk any melt-downs.

The guys on the forums also advised against ordering these by post, as the might break in transit.

In terms of globe durability, I've read that some of the guys replaced theirs as soon their got their new cars from the dealers (aparently that was back in 2002) and they're still running with BlueVision no prob's.

I'm going to get some new globes this weekend and just wanted to make sure I have the right story here... =D

The headlight globes are H4, 55W? Right?

I just don't trust those guys at autobarn/repco/supercheap to know what they are talking about. emoticon

Hi dviv,

Yep, that's right (as confirmed by spoon and Richi in this thread).

I'm getting the Philips BlueVision from autobarn in Chatswood in about 2 hours time, they got them for $58 These bubls are also 55W low beam and 60W high beam

Re: Head lights equal power of 2 candles

Hi Guys,

Philips BlueVision purchased this afternoon from autobarn!

Philips BlueVision fitted when I got home (just couldn't wait to see the difference)

What can I say? WOW!!!!!!

It's true what spoon had said, comparing these lights to the original nissan ones are just like comparing candle lights to Richi's spots emoticon

What a difference it made, the light is just awesome bright white (with a shade of blue but not too much).

I changed one side only to compare the difference and waited until it got a bit darker outside and when I switched on the head lights, I could see a huge difference between the two, one is dull yellow and the other is just bright white and "sexy" emoticon

It took me about 5 minutes to change one side and 20 minutes to change the left side (looking from inside the drivers seat) as this bloody air filter tube is in the way and I could barely fit my sausage fingers in their emoticon

The parker lights have been changed as well (they come with bluevisions for free) and they too look great (especially with the blue lens)

The next step is the fog lights, they're H3 (this is written in the manual strangely enough)

I have checked them out quickly and I just couldn't workout how to get to the bloody bulbs, it was getting dark so I thought I'd check them out again tomorrow.

Thanks to spoon for bringing this subject to my attention and to Richi for providing us with the web site info.

My recommendation to you guys: GET THEM emoticon

Re: Head lights equal power of 2 candles

Jalal,

I'd probably go for the Crystal Visions... Just to be different emoticon

When I changed over to the aftermarket globes in my pulsar, I did the same as yourself - I did one at a time, and compared the brightness between the two...

You get used to them on the road at night after a while, and then want something even brighter again.

Unfortunately it's illegal to have my driving lights on in built-up areas emoticon

If I had my way, there'd be a handful (ok, maybe just 2 or 3 or 4) of the LightForce 170's on the front roof rack - of course I'd put 240's on, but I don't think I'd fit the X-Trail through the garage door emoticon
