Re: X-Trail Tail Lights Modification
Sounds awesome Jalal,
How long did it take him to do it?
Did you do the rear fog light (the one in the middle of the bumper) as well?
Do you know if he's open on Saturday?
Just working out when I can get down there =D

Gor for it mate. I already told him to expect many more xtrails to come asking for the same thing Just tell him that you want the mod. done exactly the same way it was done for Jalal (black exy with the hella driving lights)
Yeah, he wired my rear fog light a year ago as well. But you have to find the rear fog light 1st. Mine was imported from Europe, but am sure you would probably find something on the web now if you look around.
Are you in the Shire area as well?

Re: X-Trail Tail Lights Modification
For those exy colleagues in other states, here is the process of how the rear tail light mod has been done in brief, in case you wanna give it a go yourself (risky) or explain to the local auto electrician in your area how it can be done (much safer option):
1. They had to find the right socket to suit the plastic cap that's there.
2. They had to drill the plastic cap in a way to ensure it holds the light socket and not too big for the socket to fall through inside the lens. (Not sure what they used to cut the plastic cap with)
3. They had to ensure the whole socket goes as much inside the lens as possible, otherwise the light assembly (i.e. the whole lens) would not fit into it's place, because it would touch the body of the car (i.e. the light socket would stick-out at the back too far and the lens would not fit back in place)
4. Because the new hole has got no light socket holder, they had to secure the light socket onto the lens with a very tiny screw drilled through the lens at the back.
5. Then there is the wiring, but I think that's not that hard. Just splice into existing wiring and take it from there.
My advice, take it to someone who knows what he's doing. I can now say that I couldn't have done it myself. Too risky and if you do something wrong you will end-up paying for a new light assembly (big $)
Good luck guys. Let me know how you go.

Re: X-Trail Tail Lights Modification
Hi Guys,
Have a look at this link, this might be a possible alternative to rear fog light:
http://www.narva.com.au/LEDLighting_9.html
Look at item number 91808 on this page. This is available from autobarn as well.

Looks much easier.... Do you happen to know the dimsensions of the hole in the rear bumper?
Could make life MUCH easier....
The genuine rear fog light measures 19cm wide and 4.5cm in height and the measurement from the side of the light to the centre of the whole (where the screws go in) is 1.5cm
EDIT: Just looked at narva web site again and they show their measurements their. I think their light is smaller in size. I think it wont fit. Ah well, worth a try anyway.

Signal Indicator Lights Modification-Series 1
Hi Guys,
I was thinking of upgrading the indicator lights on my series 1 exy from yellow to clear.
I shopped around a couple of nissan dealers and was quoted a price of $52 each.
Has anyone found them any cheaper than this?
I thought since am gonna be changing the rear number plate cover from black to chrome, I might as well change the indicators at the same time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and who knows maybe nissan interstate sells these parts cheaper (Brisbane & Adelaide guys??)
The part numbers are as follows:
Clear Indicators: #26160-EQ000
Rear Chrome Plate: #90810-8H300
