Re: In Car DVD
I am thinking about the Dual Head rest system also (when I get my Exy - soon) but
a bit worry about theft as these are highly visible and easy to remove.

Just cover the head-rest when not in use and you'll be fine.

Re: In Car DVD
Hi all
The inhouse entertainment unit(factory fitted nissan unit)can be hooked up to your standard nissan cd player, with out much fuss.
The unit which came with my exy was all factory fitted. The other night I had some of the same concerns that have been voiced.
So I stripped it down, to check out what the manual had indicated. Yes you can have another AV feed (sound included) to the display unit(AV cords req) and the stereo/cd play has an standby sound input (din 9 i think) fiting to which you can plug a Ipod, anything else that generates sound.
As for the display units yes i do agree that there should be two for the back(head rests) and one for the front passenger.(visser)

Re: In Car DVD
Hi
To do the headrest mount TV option is abit pain in th but* for X-Trail, as there is a hole in the middle of the head rest. You will need to cut it open first then put a base board in for the monitor to mount on. Then you need to cover up the hole, with some kind of similar material.
Another thing is, due to the size of the headrest, it is hard to mount anything bigger then 7" into the headrest.
I put 2 Alpine TME-M580 into mine, with the mounting brackets and everything else, it is a tight squeese.
Afterall, I MADE my wife stitch up 2 headrest covers to cover the monitors up when not in use.

Re: In Car DVD
Guys,
Had I been thinking of putting monitors in the headrest, I would have seriously considered THIS option from eBay, which is not only cheap, but also saves you from cutting holes in your factory headrest should you wish to keep the monitors later on and sell the car without them.
They come in grey and black, so all you need to check is the distance between the rods to ensure it'll fit the exy, but I believe these are standard.

Re: In Car DVD
The ones in X-Trail is different than the other cars I have....so I think there is no standard there..
Now after you added these 2 monitor you will then need a video splitter, and a video switch if you wanted to have multiple stuff like game and dvd to be watched on the monitor.

Re: In Car DVD
Hi Alan,
If I remember correctly, you had one hell of video and audio set-up in your exy (i.e. a home theatre on wheels)
It'll be great if you can post up some pics and show the guys what you have created in your exy.
I would love to travel as a passenger in your exy anytime. hehehe

Re: In Car DVD
LOL for you of course....you are the head of the pack, as for me, I am just plain lazy....I will document it up for the guys to read on the forum. You see, if I just give a bunch of model numbers is quite pointless, as some people would have no idea of what it is, give me sometime I will document it up and explain it.
