I went the option of using 2x cheap $100 portable DVD units which simply hook over the headrests.
This way easily placed and removed and when not in use, away from prying eyes.
Mind you we only use them for the kids when we go on driving holidays, a couple of DVD's and the y are almost behaved.

When I fitted the arm-rests to my front leather seats, I un-zipped the leather covers from the back and could clearly see the internal of the seats and the holes to the head rests, so feeding wires through won't be a major problem at all and all you have to do is unzip the factory fabric (or leather) covers from the seats.
As for covering the head-rest screens when not in use, it's very easy. All you have to do is ask your wife to make a couple of hoods that go over the head-rests when you leave the car

Hi All,
I have been given as a birthday present a set of rear headrest DVD players.
I have asked around about Professional install and I am getting quotes of around $250 for 2.5 hours of labour which seems excessive.
I have a 2005 Ti-L with electric seats, surely they will just tap into that for the power supply.
I was thinking of doing it myself, however I don't know what voltage supply the seats, anyone know?
My only worry is the electric seats always have power and if the kids forget to turn off the player it will drain the battery.
Any suggestions please?

John,
You will be better off taping into the power supplier to the cigarette lighter as it only comes on with the ignition. That's what I used to power my headrest DVD players and it's not hard to do at all. You have leather seats and these can un-zip easily from the back and it's only a matter of running the wires inside the seats and connecting them to a power source on the floor. You can save yourself a little fortune by doing it yourself.

I haven't looked at it yet, but do you run the wires to the front or back cigarette lighter and were do you run the wires to stay hidden? I remember reading somewhere that the wiring runs down a particular side with the clips already in place.

I used the front cigarette lighter as it was easier to remove the centre console where the hand-brake is and hide the wires under it.

As anyone checked out, or better still installed, these all in one entertainment units on ebay for around $400 to $450- DVD, GPS, CD, reversing input, digital TV etc.??

Yep, if i remembered to put it in the right bin it has probably been recycled into spam tins by now 
All in one headrest monitors are the go, you dont want the display in the front, its distracting Mine are listed somewhere on this forum, or as you are in Adelaide im happy to show you what we use

Once I get back from Melbourne I'll be submitting a review of 2 budget and one upmarket "all in one" units.
