LPG autogas
I have a 2004 Xtrail and was wondering if anyone out there has LPG autogas conversion fitted, and if so any comments as to its performance, good or bad would be appreciated. I am considering the options of getting it fitted.
regards

Re: LPG autogas
Im not sure fitting lpg to an xtrail is very economical. Being such a small capacity engine, which can already return economy figures of 10.5/100 round the city may actually get worse with the extra weight of the lpg tank and power drop on lpg. You will also lose bootspace.
Thats just my opinion, but if ur after greater economy perhaps try a Cold Air Intake and less restrictive exhaust system.

Re: LPG autogas
Hi ambcb and welcome to the forums.
I also don't think you'll save much by converting to LPG.
The exy is very economical as it is and the extra weight would definitely be a disadvantage. Not to mention you will loose nearly all of the luggage room at the back.
I'll move this post to the FAQ section of the forum, as this is where the rest of questions about the exy are located.

Re: LPG autogas
Hi all,
Followed an exy home today and it was displaying the LPG sticker on the number plate.
The standard exhaust was still in its place, there was no sign of a tank behind the muffler and there boot had an engel fridge touching the rear seat so the tank wasn't in the boot.
Not sure where they may have fitted it?

Re: LPG autogas
Maybe the LPG tank was next to the Engel fridge, or for something different - perhaps they gutted the Engel fridge and put the LPG tank inside it?

Re: LPG autogas
Tague,
The LPG tank would be inside the spare wheel well and you would have noticed the spare tyre standing-up on the right hand-side.

Re: LPG autogas
Hi Guys,
Here is a pic of an exy with the LPG tank
The spare wheel is located on the side of the boot area and is being strapped in an upright position.

Re: LPG autogas
Hello there,
my 2002 Exy got his LPG-conversion nearly 7 month ago. Here in Germany it really saves much (LPG is 0.569 €, Octane 95 is 1.409 €). With nearly 12l/100km it really rocks.
The fuel-tank is installed instead of the spare-wheel and has 44 litres netto capacity. Range ist between 400 kms (std) and 250 kms (Fulltime 180 km/h on highway) ;-)
