Re: Fuel consumption

Just returned from a 750 km round trip to the south coast and returned figures of 7.7 l/100kms.
I used normal unleaded and I travelled down the Princess Highway, which as most of you know, isn't the flatest of roads.

I love this Xy. emoticon

Re: Fuel consumption

We recently did about 600kms round trip heavily laden, roof rack filled with camp gear also, from Darwin down to Kakadu screaming down there averaging 120km/h on the highway and then about 80km/h off road running on BP Ultimate (its been the Exy's mother's milk since buying her in 2002) and averaged 9.5l/100kms. Basically came back with needle just above empty. That's with no modification at all to the intake/engine/exhaust system at all. However, I'd love to test it out once the new exhausts "happen".

From another thread.

Andrew has reported that his fuel consumption during the run back to Sydney has gone down from 6.5LT/100kms to 5.7LT/100kms which is just amazing!!!

I think one of the main reasons for this though is that the run from Bathurst to Sydney is predomenatly down hill.
Going up to Hampton (job site near Jenolan Caves) I average about 8.8 l/100kms.
On the way back home it gets as low as 7.7l/100kms.
The total distance travelled is 190kms.

Possibly, but that run up hill at Mount Victoria is the biggest test for the exy emoticon I love that section emoticon

In any case, I asked Andrew to keep an eye on the fuel consumption and report back. It's still early days.

Re: Fuel consumption

So far I've only filled up the Exxy twice.. Each time I freak a bit - still very much accustomed to my former Lancer emoticon First fill up I managed about 500km's on 48L, and this morning when I filled up only hit 420km's on 48L. It's predominantly inner-city driving but with about 150km (of each fill up) being a drive to the mountains and back - so mostly freeway.

Needless to say I'm looking forward to getting the car up past Katoomba, and out to Jenolan, Oberon, Bathurst etc. Fuel economy would definitely improve for that driving emoticon

posticon Re: Fuel consumption

I have now done almost 12,000km in my T31 manual, nearly all of that has been city driving and my monthly statements show a consistent 8.4 to 8.7 L./100km which is also consistent with the vehicle computer readings.

I have used both E10 and ULP with better mileage from the E10, Now this seems to fly in the face of everything I have been reading in this forum. I run my tyes at 36psi,

Last weekend I went to Double Island Point and Rainbow Beach via Noosa, so there was a mixture of city/highway/sand driving and still I got 9.3/100km which considering what I put it through on the beach was absolutely awesome.

So why would I be getting this sort of economy when very few others do? Could it be the tyre pressure I use which does not effect the ride I get.

Mind you I have not yet had a true highway run to see what I get for that but I am figuring I will need a 700km plus trip to find that out

Re: Fuel consumption

I filled up this morning cause the distance to empty symbol was flashing at me (even with 109 kms to emty) I travelled 613 kms on that tank.
According to the trip meter my average was 7.7 l/100 and whwen done by calculating it, it worked out at 7.8l/100.
It was also saying that estimate kilometers I was expecting is 739kms.

Re: Fuel consumption

215/70/16 tires fitted, pirelli scorpion SRT HT threads on them, with two people and full of clothes and luggae cases at back, our best figure was 7.1 liters per/100km on highway. average speed was ~90 km/h. car is auto.

usually i am getting 8.5 to 9.7 liters /100km under average conditions. 22 km long trips each and approx 1/3 of trip is in stop and go, 1/3 is highway and 4th gear engaged during highway part. I have OBD interface,so i am able to check instantaneous and past time statistics on my netbook.i am always driving relaxed and easy.

i think if it is only stop and go trafic, this figures will be around 12 to 13 liters.
